We stayed overnight in December. We were meeting family locally so didn't use the restuarant for a meal. Our room was really lovely with a large bed and leaded bay window overlooking the garden. The breakfast was good. All the staff were friendly in particular the breakfast waitress. The building was full of character with some historical pieces of displayed. We enjoyed out short stay and would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for one Sat night with friends, having booked through Travelzoo. We arrived mid afternoon & were greeted warmly & given a full brief about meal timings, etc. The afternoon tea was served in the bar area - & has improved from previous reviews on here; a nice variety of sandwiches and scones. The restaurant area was very pleasant and the meal was excellently cooked. Our accomodation was very clean, warm and spacious. The lack of water pressure in the shower is the only minor point. The highlight was the attitude and friendliness of Richard and all the staff; they really did make an effort to ensure we had an enjoyable stay.

A fairly run of the mill older hotel owned by Legacy Hotels. Location is nice and pretty

Travel Zoo offer so was very pleased with the discounted deal. Very large room in the eaves but was spoilt by noise from heating pipes and may be water tanks. Cream tea offer was very disappointing may be better if they didn't bother, not fresh baked scones nor clotted cream. However evening meal was very good and the staff very friendly. Room was very clean.
