Just came back from the groupon deal- was amazing

I haven't written a review before but felt I had to due to the hospitality of the staff and their organisation. They made us feel very welcomed and were very organised with the groupon deal- The breakfast was buffet styled which was really nice as fresh food was put out frequently. Also, the dinner was really nice and we ended up eating there the second night.

We actually did not drive there and took the train to Metheringham- however on the Sunday since the train only runs from Lincoln we took the train from there. There is also a bus that goes to Lincoln- which we took to go to town on Saturday to look at the Cathedral and the Castle.

The town near the hotel is very small and cozy- there is a wonderful delicatessen shop in the town that sells these unique looking pastries.

Overall I had a wonderful time and I must emphasis how friendly everyone was.

Just come back from a 2 night stay which we totally enjoyed. Hotel is partly refurbished and the areas already done are very nice and modern. Room was large and refurbished, very nice decor, plasma, tea/coffee, hair dryer and all usual facilities you would expect. Evening meal was lovely and very well cooked. Breakfast buffet nice too.
Customer service 5*!! The staff were all friendly and couldn't do enough for you which is very refreshing.
The village of Woodhall spa is lovely and quaint. 2 pubs within 3 mintues walk, couple of restaurants too (Italian, Indian) Chinese takeaway and fish and chip shop too. Lots of little cafes and few other shops. About 30 mins drive to Lincoln if you want more happening but to be honest the village has got really what you would need for a weekend.
Enjoyed our stay, nice hotel in a great location, lovely friendly staff so would return and recommend.

Just come back from a weekend break booked on groupon. Brilliant deal, great value for money. The hotel lobby and seating areas are very pleasant and the rooms were large and comfortable, with great tv and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel generally is a bit on the shabby side, but could be amazing with a bit of money injected into it. The staff were very attentive. The meals, including the buffet breakfast, were very good and the hotel bar had a fantastic selection. There is a spa within the grounds which we had a voucher to use against treatments. This was a very pleasant environment. The town itself is very quaint and pretty with some good old-fashioned shops, and there is an amazing authentic 1930s cinema (named Kinema in the woods) within a 10 minute walk of the hotel. There is also a pub and some other restaurants in the town. Overall, we had a great weekend.

The Golf Hotel and Spa is a complete misnomer as 1 - No Golf and 2 - No Spa
On arrival the bar was shut with no access to tea or coffee. The a la Carte menu is expensive at £28 per head when the selection includes Scampi and chips (reconstituted) bangers and mash, gammon and egg etc....more what you would expect as pub grub. Asked for cream with pudding only to be told 'it wasn't served with cream', only got it when I offered to pay extra.

The bedroom was fine but the bathroom had a cracked sink and the shower sealant was black.

Once completely renovated would be worth a visit as a stay but not a as break as advertised
