We recently spent our honeymoon in the Uchaux region, not far from Avignon, Orange, and Chateauneuf de Pape and we stayed for the most part at La Tour De Hauteville, which is a Gite or Farmhouse around the corner from where we got married. Little did we realize when we booked, what an amazing little farmhouse this was.
It is the remains of an 11th century castle and half of the building is a Tower turret area, with an elevated tower room that is like going back to 1550. The views from this tower room are just amazing.
The other half of the Farmhouse has a pool in the courtyard, as well as a balcony just outside the second bedroom that we used for dinner and breakfast, that has spectacular views over the Uchaux hills. It also has a kitchen, bedroom and living room.
It's owned by Mr et Mme Christian Bouche, and they are incredibly gracious, friendly, welcoming, generous hosts. We can't stop talking about this place, and our friends who stayed nearby and attended our wedding, all want to stay there the next time they return to Uchaux!
