We recently spent 2 nights at this lovely agriturismo set in a beautiful farm area a few miles from the ionian Sea. The rooms are medium size with nice beds. The bathroom is nice, but the shower very small -- seems like most of Italy uses showers that are about 30 by 30 inches. They are OK if the user is of average or less size but wonder ghow larger folks can fit through the door and bend over to pick up soap they drop. Fortunately, I'm slim. We loved everything about the place EXCEPT the owner convinced us to have dinner there. That was a mistake --- as it was for every agriturismo we selected the dinner option for. The food looked and tasted as if it was warmed up left overs and not the excellent local cooking we were promised. I suggest if you stay here you take advantage of the many local excellent restaurants.

Spent 5 lovely nights in this paradise of relaxation and a little jewel of a place offering a true "agriturismo" experience with very warm service and excellent Puglian food. I am a travel agent by profession so I really know how to judge whether a place is good or not so good, but Montepaolo is really outstanding in all aspects, including in the pricing which makes it really good value for money.

We were three people booked into 2 beautiful rooms with balconies overlooking gardens and countryside. Completely isolated and beautifully quiet and peaceful.

Our rooms were very nice and large enough. There was one window and another large door that opened up onto a balcony with a beautiful view. The bathroom was spacious and everything was spotless and nicely decorated.

For an extra 20 euros per person, one can choose to have dinner at the Masseria. One of the reasons I chose this place for 4 nights was because of comments by people who raved about the food, the owner, etc. We did not have the same experience.

The food on two nights that we ate here was very good, since those were the two nights that there was either a large party or another table set for about 10 people coming from somewhere just for the meal. So we enjoyed the special foods made for them. On the other two nights, while the food was OK and even tasty, it was nothing really and truly great. The owner, while nice enough, was not even there for two of the four days we spent there. And when she was, she was too busy to give us more than a quick Buona Sera, etc.

It was convenient to have dinner here since the driver could drink wine without worrying about driving and since it was a very narrow country road without lights, it may have been a problem after dinner in the city.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet. We all slept very very well and the staff were enjoyable and accommodating.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The house is lovely as are the rooms. Very peaceful lying by the pool in the late afternoon sun. We ate here one night and have to say that it wasn't the best food we had in Puglia, perhaps it was just an off night. Otherwise, it was a lovely place to stay.
