“Great place to relax”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2011

Stayed here just for one night passing by.
We had a small but efficient and clean room with a beautifull river view and a small balcony with two chairs. The food in the restaurant in the annexe is excellent and they served a great local Spaetburgunder Ahr-wine. It is quite a big hotel, one experiences this in the huge, bit crowded, breakfast-room. Breakfast was very good too with attentive staff and the manager keeping an eye on everything and greeting the guests.

Room Tip: Ask for a river side room with balcony.

“Disappointing; friendly staff but old rooms and supermarket bread”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2010

The staff is friendly, but the room we had was old. Especially the bathroom (for instance mold). The wellness-area: I left as soon as I could. And breakfast: they don't serve really fresh bread, it's bread that they bake off in their own oven and that's also sold in supermarkets around Germany. When I pay more then 100 euro, the least I expect is real fresh bread...!

“Small and cold room under the roof”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2009

Rooms 400 and 401 are a shame. They are extremely cold as the heater does not work properly. It was simply impossible to sleep. They are extremely small comparend to the other rooms. They are allocated to customers who have a voucher and do not pay enough to get the standard room. The hotel reception does not offer any compensation for this unacceptable treatment. The next night was in a different room which was much better and warm. The full price had to be paid without any compensation for the harm suffered the day before. There was no personnel at the Spa. They also illegally try to refuse Amex cards. I cannot recommend this hotel who tries to rip off customers.

“A haven of solitude and excellence surrounded by vineyards”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2009

The Hotel Lochmuele was one of the best hotels we stayed in during an 8 day tour of Germany. It is a lovely hotel in a quiet, peaceful valley, surrounded by vineyards and with rooms looking down over the river. It has a lovely ambiance with large comfortable rooms and a beautiful outside terrace. All staff were friendly and welcoming. Our evening meal was across the road in the hotel's restaurant and this was quite an occasion, with the food accompanied by the local chilled white wine. A shop half a mile down the road in the village will sell you this wine at 10 euros a bottle. Delicious! Breakfast was also excellent and we cannot honestly think of any criticisms. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

“Quiet, relax, fair value - Would come back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2009

Our room was just an ordinary one, large but not very clean. There were plenty of dead insects (mosquitos and moths) near the window which could have been cleaned up with a vacuum. Not a big problem, though, cause window is on the grass, not on a city street.
Apart from that, hotel staff is nice, view is amazing, location is perfect for a two-day stay with close friends and/or partner.
Breakfast is very good as quantity and variety.
We would come back, but we will pretend to have the room cleaned just before.
