We booked two rooms in the Bett and Brand package, which includes the room, a four course meal, a tour of the in-house distillery (with great samples!), and a sumptuous breakfast buffet. We were welcomed most warmly on our arrival. The rooms were modern, newly renovated and clean. The building was built in the 14th century, and it has been run by the same family as a hostelry since 1866. The age of the building can be seen with the open beams, but all luxury mod cons have been built in.
The dinner was excellent, extremely tasty and served piping hot (except of course the salad). The tour of the distillery was rounded off by the proprietor playing a local horn and giving a rendition of a local poem. All very tastefully done.
One problem was that the bathroom light and extractor fan go on automatically when one enters the bathroom. This is inconvenient at night, when one would rather not put on the light, and the fan continues for about 30 minutes, which can be bothersome. I understand that the proprietor is looking to rectify this matter.
