I must admit that I used to enjoy reading some of the negative reviews on Trip Advisor and similar websites. They are rarely accurate but have made me laugh in the past but I never stopped to think of the upset that these asinine comments must have to the reviewees.
Cats catch birds? Well there's a surprise. Cats do things like that and it is unfortunate. I have a dog that catches snakes and that is much more exciting especially when he drops them onto one's lap.
Le Chant is well placed if you wish to tour around the Loire. There are many Châteaux in the area and a number of good museums. There's a Tank museum to rival Bovingdon in the UK and 3 museums dedicated to mushrooms!
There looked like there was some good fishing to be had in that area but I didn't bother to follow it up.
Le Chant is situated in a wooded area so take a good quality powerful torch and you may be rewarded with some views of the local Deer. We heard a Woodpecker that was different to the UK woodpeckers but it proved to be elusive so we were unable to recognise it.
Le Chant seems to organise "food" nights. These seem to be organised in much the same manner as the Caravan Club and/or Camping and Caravan Club district meetings. These two Clubs have always found this to be a good way to get people talking so why not stick to a tried and trusted formula? It certainly works and made for an excellent evening or two.
I suppose that the true acid test of whether or not a site is successful is their amount of repeat bookings. The repeat bookings for Le Chant would be the envy of many other sites
Again, I must say "Thank you" to Stu and Syb for a most enjoyable stay.
