“An excellent campsite”

We stayed at this site because it is close to gardens and chateaux in the Loire Valley - it turned out to be an excellent choice. We liked the size of the site and felt it had a lovely peaceful rural feel to it with all the comforts of home - constant hot water, clean showers and toilets, a fully fitted "Kampers' Kitchen", even a fridge for our tent. We had great service provided by Stu and Syb, who helped us sort out the electricity and even lent us an electrical lead and gave us advice on places to visit.

We were really cannot recommend the site too highly. It is great for children and toddlers and has a great family feel, especially sitting out for the lovely shared meals.

“Stu and Syb have a rare gift...”

Stu and Syb have a rare gift for facilitating exactly the holiday you hope to have.
If you want peace and solitude its yours.
New friends and happy relaxed socialising you can have that too.
The genuine warmth that greeted us on our arrival is instantly relaxing after a long journey.
Stu and Syb's unobtrusive hard work behind the scenes ensures you enjoy your holiday, from the generous welcome pack to the care for their environment is obvious.
This is essentially their home and garden which they open for you to enjoy, treat it with respect and appreciation in the hope that their commitment and enthusiasm will be sustained so you can come and enjoy it again and again. We will!

“It's our little bit of paradise.”

We visit this wonderful site 3 times a year----it's so good we can't stay away!!!
Stu and Syb are the ideal hosts who can't do enough for you, starting with that welcoming cup of tea when you arrive and continuing throughout your stay with them.
The meals, cooked by Syb twice weekly, are delicious and excellent value for money ,as are Stu's weekly Wednesday pizzas. If you fancy eating off site I can strongly recommend L'oeil de Boeuf, a superb restaurant just a few miles away. Stu and Syb are happy to phone and make a reservation for you.
The site itself is blissfully peaceful-----plenty of room to sit, relax, read and dip in and out of the pool.
Can't wait until we return in October.

“Already booked for next year.”

This was my second stay at Le Chant with my girlfriend after enjoying our stay such much last year we had decided to return. Next year we are going one better as we have hired the whole site for a week in Aug for our family to stay when we get married in the area.
The site has the best of everything, it's big enough to meet new people and have a nice atmosphere but small enough to be friendly, keep kids safe and always in sight.
Stu and Syb are the friendliest of hosts, you can't leave without regarding them as friends you met on holiday rather than the owners of the site. Their local knowledge is excellent and they will gladly take the time to show you where places are on the map or recommend somewhere to visit. On our first visit Stu recommended a bike ride along the river that was fantastic. It was off the beaten track and somewhere we would never have found by ourselves. We felt we had the locals knowledge.
This year they could not have been more helpful with planning our wedding in the area. Their input and recommendations have helped us to put together what promises to be a truely fantastic day.
Could not recommend the site more for families, couples, relaxing, sight seeing...
Lastly make sure you try pizza night!

“Was wonderful then extremely bad”

Wonderful setting, lovely area of France (shame about the thunderstorms during our stay).

Very peaceful, very relaxed and very friendly or so we thought..........

I was under the impression that both Syb and Stu were lovely, I was extremely disappointed when I was informed in the most AGRESSIVE way that our children had placed gravel into the extremely battered and ripped pool table's pockets.

The truth to this story is a number of children at the site had put gravel in the pockets of the pool table, sadly our children were the ones accused, this was not brought to our attention and we were not aware that Stu had mentioned this to the children concerned. If we had been made aware of this our children would of been disciplined however, Stu was clearly unhappy regarding this and came at me raising his voice and pointing his finger in my face in an extremely aggressive way.

Shocked by the above I subsequently asked my children to apologise to Stu only to receive the response "YOU HAVE DONE ENOUGH DAMAGE I WOULD KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT". Just to clarify no damage was done.

This really let our holiday down after having such a wonderful first few days we could not wait to leave.

This is a family campsite, children will be children, we apologise for any inconvenience regarding this however, I would recommend Stu takes lessons in how to be diplomatic and consider a quiet whisper into a parent's ear, being so aggressive could seriously cause severe upset to a weaker person.
Just to clarify, Syb was lovely and extremely welcoming, however due to the above we would not return to this site.

I think that both you and I know there's a HUGE difference between what's written here, and what actually happened, and the discussion that followed. Syb was actually stood listening in the kitchen. When your child asked for the pool cues from the office, he was asked to bring an adult to play as we've seen so much damage done to the table and equipment by unsupervised kids. I explained to you in a non-aggressive manner that your kids were indeed putting gravel down the pockets and had been asked many times not to. Despite this polite request, they chose to continue, kicking up a dust storm around the table instead. I remember, as does my wife that you yourself asked your friend's child to stop speaking when he was rude to me, and I agreed with what you said. Had I lost my patience? Yes, definately. Was I aggressive? Most definitely not. We're both deeply saddened and shocked to read this, especially after the help with your car after locking yourself out.
