“Sweet piece of South Seas paradise”

RBB is the best find on the island. Wonderfully located on the south side of Rarotonga, on the beach - best sunsets - gentle breezes, make this place very special. Hosts "Luckey" is a 'peach and 'Tom knows all the answers on how to make your visit the 'best' for your style of holiday. Laying on the beach at night, with your loved one, watching the "Southen Cross" is remarkable! Food is pricey so the 'self catering feature' made for some romantic meals at the bungalow. Highly recommended!

“Cannot recommend Rarotonga Beach Bungalows highly enough.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2011

Rarotonga Beach Bungalows is fantastic. Of course they're right on the beach and the scenery is beautiful. The bungalows themselves are great. What really sets them apart, though, is the service. The staff really goes above and beyond the make sure you feel at home and enjoy your stay. On future visits to Rarotonga I won't even need to look around, I just know that I'll stay at Rarotonga Beach Bungalows. Visit their website at http://www.rarotongabeachbungalows.com/

It it hard to describe how beautiful the location and these bungalows are but I wanted to try to express how grateful I am for having the opportunity to vacation here. The units are simple yet very well designed and decorated to suit the island. Huge covered lanais which open out from the living room through large sliding doors, make it possible to watch the tropical rains or escape the intense sun while enjoying the everchanging, amazing views. The location is perfect for hours of snorkeling and kayaking directly in front of the bungalow in the protected lagoon. The white sand beach was fantastic for lounging or long walks. Air conditioning in the bedroom was welcomed and the outdoor shower lovely. The daily housekeeping was great and every request responded to graciously by our hosts. I would recommend you grab your spouse/ partner, a good book, a few cds, perhaps a Scrabble game, some duty free beverages and get on the next flight to Rarotonga Beach Bungalows. The direct flight from LAX, only 2 hour time difference, less expense than a similar trip to Hawaii, attention to detail by the RBB staff, all in such a dreamy tropical setting, will have us planning our 3rd trip soon.

“Small, clean boutique hotel with Cook Islands character.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2010

We stayed at the Rarotonga Beach Bungalows for a week on our honeymoon. The grounds were well kept and the place was quiet, with only 5 bungalows on site. Each bungalow has its own spacious porch with fantastic lounge chairs! The villas themselves were large with a main living room and kitchen. The kitchen was well equipped with cooking tools, fridg, and microwave. There is a separate bedroom with a closet and tv. Our biggest complaint about the Rarotonga Beach Bungalows was the bed/pillows; king sized but not comfortable. The hotel serves breakfast every morning with fresh fruit, bread, coffee and cereal. It was nice to chat with the owner, Tom, each morning about our trip and get recommendations. He was very nice and is very good at what he does.
The villas were not sleek but they were comfortable and were filled with great local arts and crafts. The location was outstanding! We were able to do great snorkeling right in front of the place. We had a lovely time! If the beds and pillows were replaced, we would absolutely recommend this hotel

“Magnificent Splendour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2010

Good news, flights from Sydney to Rarotonga direct; let’s hope the four month trial will continue permanently, so that we can visit our holiday paradise without a stop in New Zealand. After many years of travel we now have settled for our favourite Cook Islands destination every year. Since 1985 we have visited Rarotonga 15 times and until recently have always stayed at one of the main holiday resorts. Two years ago we “discovered” the Rarotonga Beach Bungalows; only five in total, and three on the beach.

Paradise discovered the bungalows were designed by Tom; the layout is superb, a spacious veranda above a sandy beach that not only captures the view of the lagoon and, 500 yards away, the magnificent waves of the reef. But we are so close to the lagoons edge that we can watch the fish feeding on the coral from only a few feet. The veranda opens to a large local-cultured featured living room combined with dining and kitchen, to a splendid comfortable bedroom and then to a tropical bathroom and shower that we simply must copy in the next home we build. Well kept, very clean and tidy these bungalows and their position are unparalleled in peace, beauty and serenity, so romantic and relaxing.

At the resorts we used to eat out every night at the many good restaurants on the Island but not now, as the bungalows position is too good to leave, we enjoy most of our meals and wine overlooking the beach as the sun sets. The staff are wonderful, Tom a knowledgeable and genial host, Luckey a warm and happy conversationalist over breakfast who supports the other enthusiastic and cooperative staff. We always look forward to hiring a scooter to explore the island.

The RBB is perfect if you want to avoid the family rush and are looking for a quiet, secluded boutique get-away whilst experiencing the enjoyment of the Island. Yes, we will be back again in early 2011.
