“Unbelievably relaxing and totally pampered”

We have just come back from the most beautiful island accommodation we have ever stayed in. Time actually stood still. We stayed for 7 nights in the Pia Tiare (Garden unit), just stunning especially the outdoor shower and spa. We decided to stay in one night when it was raining and having our own kitchen we were able to cook up some of the islands vegetables and meat and then settle back with a nice wine to watch some footage of our holiday so far, all from our room. No matter how we left our room, it would be fresh on our return. Made our way to breakfast every morning, smiles all round, and before you even sat down a pot of perculated coffee as you take in the view of the ocean, sand and palm trees. With snorkelling gear at hand we had a view of the reef underwater, so spectacular then back for a swim in the pool while still overlooking the ocean. The only sounds you ever heard were the roar of the waves breaking over the reef in the distance. We relaxed by the pool and sometimes on the beach in banana lounges sipping on a couple of beers and the occassional cocktail watching the palm trees against the blue sky and white sands. If you needed to know anything about the island you had only to ask the staff and you were put in the right direction. If you needed to book anything Vicki was there to make any arrangements. Hubby caught a fish, also picking some of the island produce across the road and with some liaising with the cook this fish was cooked up for our table and we have to say that fish was just done to absolute perfection and with a little help from Sam - thanks Sam. We left with a feel that the staff were not staff but our friends and we will be back. Thanks for making our holiday very special and we have had the time of our lives. Your island and its people are very beautiful in so many ways. To Alex, Sam, Vicki, Billie and all of you, our friends, meitaki.

“Superb - highly recommended!”

We are just back from our amazing stay at Little Polynesian – and loved every moment!

It is simply gorgeous, immaculately kept, with amazing staff and delicious food.

We spent 7 nights in an overbeach bure (number 2) which is absolute beachfront. We loved waking each morning to the sound of the waves and yet another gorgeous sunrise.

The rooms have huge king-size beds, comfy sheets/pillows, big bathroom area (double sinks, plus an outdoor shower and spa), peaked roof and air con to keep cool. We loved the special touches like the hand-carved cornices and wardrobe doors, the outdoor daybed and comfy deckchairs. Everything has been considered, right down to the outdoor tap by the deck to wash your sandy feet.

We found the snorkelling directly outside the bures the best of the island (surpassing Fruits of Rarotonga and the Oneroa motu).

They have snorkelling gear and kayaks available (great kayaking to Muri beach and Oneroa), plus DVDs for rainy days.

We had dinner at the restaurant one night, and it was one of the best meals we had on the island. The dishes were huge, the setting was gorgeous (around the pool to watch the sunset). Definitely try the key lime pie and chocolate soufflé.

The continental breakfast gives you plenty of choice with 6 different cereals, 2 different juices, fresh pastries, toast, tea/coffee and fresh fruit. Service was very prompt and attentive. In fact, we had to do heaps of exercise just to wear off all that food!

What makes Little Polynesian special is the attention to detail. The staff are also so friendly and were great at arranging restaurant reservations and recommending things to do. Vicki was even there to farewell us before our super-early trip to the airport at 4:30am.

Thank you to Alex, Vicki, Billie and the team. We hope to be back again soon!

We loved our stay at the little poly, the staff were extremely hospitable and always friendly.....from the manager Alex and his understudy Sam right through to the gardeners Moni who always had time for a chat and to let us know what's going on around the island. we will visit any resort where Alex manages as we will know there will be a welcoming face to greet us, he will be a asset to any hotels or resorts he has dealing with .......
The little poly was all we expected and lots more.
The NO kids policy was wonderful and I'm glad more hotels are going down this road.....Not that we don't like kids its just so nice to have that time away.
the rooms were always well kept and they did a night turn down every evening, its was quiet except for the sound of the sea which is always romantic.............hubby enjoyed walking out of the door right into the water.....
We will visit again that's for sure.
Oh and l forgot to mention the great lady cooks......great job ladies keep up the classes and I'm sure Alex will have a pay increase on the books soon...(LOL)

Room Tip: Any of the Beach front rooms are great but try not to get to near the pool area..........

“Warm and hospitable staff, gem of a location. We'll be back!”

We recently had our wedding at The Little Polynesian Resort and the entire experience was a pleasure from beginning to end. Firstly, the front manager Vicki did a wonderful job with the planning. Reducing the stress and headache of having a destination wedding by liasing closely with me for a couple months in advance. Then when we showed up and after a brief chat about a few preferences for location of where we wanted the photos taken and archway, everything was ready to go.

The ceremony itself was beautiful and tastefully decorated with the pool deck transformed into a walkway with palm fronds laid out as runners and tiki torches lighting the way to a gorgeous jasmine ringed and scented palm archway. As we were just the two of us at the ceremony, Vicki and Kim Davis (hair dresser and makeup artist from the Pacific Salon Resort) helped with my dress and did a wonderful job with a complex corset! (Thanks Kim) The photographer, William Tuiravakai hired by Vicki did a wonderful job of capturing our special day. And the celebrant John Kenning was equally jubilant marrying us in front of a crowd of well wishers who had gathered by the pool to witness our union.

Overall, it was a remarkable experience and we had a great time. The only thing I could wish for was that we could do it again as it was such a magical experience, it almost didn't feel real at the time. We spent an additional two nights after the ceremony at Little Poly (we had already had two nights beforehand as part of a five night package we had purchased) and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of our stay. The overbeach are we stayed in was beautiful, simple and elegant with carefully partitioned bamboo walls and a luxurious daybed gazebo out the front of the verandah. The ocean itself was literally at our front doorstep and yet mature palms shielded the verandah from the full sun during the day. The weather held up remarkably well even though it was cyclone season (my only real worry as we had read it can get quite wet during Nov-April) but it only rained for five minutes at a stretch followed by sun.

Thanks again to the staff at Little Poly for making this a dream come true! Thanks for being part of our memories.

Warm, friendly and helpful staff look after your every need in this pristine location, making Little Poly the best hotel for a romantic getaway. The no kids policy means there is always a pool side sun chair available, and ensures a peaceful, relaxing rest or swim. The beach is beautiful and great for swimming or snorkeling. We miss it already, thank you Billie, Nana, Alex and all of the staff for taking great care of us. Aaron and Amanda.
