My husband and I just returned from our 8th stay at this hotel. It is on THE best part of Rarotonga's lagoon--excellent for snorkeling and kayaking. The staff is very personable and helpful. We like the ground floor units because we can walk from our room to the ocean in 40 steps! The third floor rooms are more luxurious. All rooms have great ocean views.

We got married in Rarotonga and the Moana Sands was a fantastic base for us.

We had the most amazing time and the staff at Moana Sands we so friedly and would do anything to help you. We stayed in the hotel and had one of the lager rooms on the 3rd floor. It was spotless, cleaned every day except Sunday. The cleaners were lovely too!

I think it was better here than one of the bigger "resort" hotels as you weren't treated as a number, they got to know your name. The beach was very clean too and right on your door step! There is a bus stop right outside which is really handy.

I can't wait to go back, it was heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife and I just spend our 7th anniversary on Raro and stayed at Moana for a week!! No words can express how much we loved our stay at this quaint little resort. The location (view was fantastic and snorkeling phenomenal), the staff (always attentive and helpful) and the room (we stayed in a suite on 3rd floor-strongly recommended) were comfy and a great value. We checked in without NZ dollars and the staff was grateful enough to lend us some to take the bus into town and repay them. Our flight back to LA didn't leave until midnight and they let us stay in our suite fo what I would consider a minimal charge. The fresh bananas hanging in the breezeway in the morning was a nice little treat. The room was always clean and fresh (unlike what 1 other reviewer stated) and the full kitchen had all the amenities of home. All in all, this place was superb and we are looking forward to a trip here again in the next year..at Moana Sands, of course!!!

My husband and I stayed in October for 9 nights. This is our favourite hotel on Raro. We travel ever year to Raro and prefer to stay at a smaller hotel. The staff are very friendly and we alsways feel like we are back home when we stay. Great location, fantastic snorkelling right out the front of the hotel, stunning views of the lagoon from the deluxe rooms on the third floor. The Sands Restaurant offers excellent food and would highly recommend. We will see you again next year.
