“mixed feelings”

We went there for 4 days with 3 adults and 2 kids. The owners were polite, but not really welcoming... when we checked in - nor at breakfast - we got any explanation. They weren't really that friendly as many others described. However : when we asked last minute if we could bring along a second kid, they agreed immediately and put in a third bed in the room.
The breakfast was very poor!
The rooms were quite old and smelly; the bathroom was OK. The access to the garden was fantastic, especially when you're travelling with kids.
Ambleteuse is a very quiet (= to quiet!) village : nothing to do or to see... But the location is great : between Boulogne-sur-mer and the 2 Caps (all really worth visiting!).

The hotel is a strange looking building, but don't let that put you off. Inside it is a homely and modern, typical seaside hotel. The owner and family are extremely welcoming and friendly.

We only staed one night because we needed somewhere near Boulogne to catch an early ferry. Even so I couldn't have been more welcome and the owner got up to make our breakfast, a cut above the usual French fare, for 7:00 on Sunday morning.

The town Ambleteuse was pretty too with nice bars and restaurants. The hotel staff will make excellent reccomendations.
