“Adaquate compfortable hotel for a Wheelchair guest”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2011

The check in was easy in a lobby nicely done with a large fish pond. We were given a nice wheelchair accessable room and bath. The room was clean but dated and a little loud. The beds were compfortable. We were disappointed to find that the lift would not go to the floor where the restaurant was located, BUT we were very pleased when a very helpfull staff member took us on a freight elevator to the restaurant floor where we had a nice meal from a good selection. Nice to see a staff that cares and helps the handicapped...very refreshing!!.

“OK hotel, friendly staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2010

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Nürtingen old town. While the old town has lots of charm, the hotel building itself is a bit faceless 1970s building. The check-in was smooth and the friendly front desk clerk directed us to a restaurant nearby for dinner. We used the underground parking garage which came with a price tag of 10€ per night. Not a bargain but definitely a hassle-free solution.

The room was clean, but a bit of dated. I was rather surprised to see that a bottle of water in the room was 4.70€. I understand the hotel needs to charge for this extra service but the charge should reasonable.

The breakfast was good and the breakfast attendant really friendly and helpful.

“The Best Hotel in Nürtingen”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2010

Well there really aren’t that many places to stay in Nürtingen so a big hotel chain like the Best Western already has a huge advantage. Besides that, this is still a very good hotel with great service for the area which is situated directly in the middle of town. The furnishing is a little dated if I’m to be perfectly honest but the whole hotel is really clean and the rooms are large enough offering all the usual services you’ve come to expect.

The reception is particularly nice with the fish pond in the centre and the breakfast offers all the traditional choices for a Hotel of this size. However, while the restaurant is OK if you’re looking for a nice evening meal I’d personally suggest you walk into the town and take anyone of the many restaurants there instead.

I obviously recommend this Hotel, however please be aware it can be a little expensive to stay so check the prices first.

“Nice hotel, Quiet little town..”

I stayed in this hotel as my daughter was studying in the university in the town. The town itself (Nurtingen) is a small, quiet typical German town. It's like something out of a storybook. But the transport systems are super, the bus and train station all within5 mins walking distance and it only takes about 30mins into Stuugart city centre. Approx 25mins to Stuttgart airport. Hotel itself is of high standard. A modern hotel, rooms nice and comfortable, staff friendly, reasonable price (you get it cheaper if you have someone in the university). If I were to go back, I would stay in this hotel again. (I've already stayed in it 3 times).

“Nice hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 May 2004

I stayed at the Hotel Am Schlossberg for two weeks on business during May of 2004. The hotel is fairly close to the Stuttgart airport and 30 minutes to downtown Stuttgart. The rooms are nice and clean. Because I was on business travel an Internet connection was a must. This hotel provides wireless service that is fairly expensive to use. You can purchase access in increments of 1 half hour, 2 hours, and 24 hours from the front desk. If you want 7 day access or longer you can purchase that on-line. The access was supposed to be high speed. It was much quicker than dial-up but slower than my cable service at home. Parking in the garage is a pain as it is very small and hard to get around if you need to go to the lower levels. I had a mid-sized car so that made it even harder. It appears that there is all kinds of shopping and places to eat around the hotel even though I didn't get to try any of them. There is a gas satation right accross the street which makes it nice to fill up and get any snacks etc. The staff is very friendly and the do a great job with the laundry and cleaning the room. The hotel has 3 restaurants. They all have manly German dishes. The filet steak you can get through room service is pretty good. Safes are provided if you need to store any cash or other valuables. The weight room and fitness area are in deperate need of updating. The weight equipment is from the mid-evil times and not worth using. The tanning bed they have needs the bulbs replaced and is very expensive ($6.00 for 10 minutes). I did not use the pool although it looked nice. I would most likely stay in this hotel again if another hotel closer to my companies office was not available or did not have Internet access.
