“Brilliant stay - Marvelous Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2010

One of the best run hotels I have been to; staff immediatly gives you a feeling of being at home, you are treated more like a guest in a private house then in a hotel; rooms are a bit small, which can be a problem in bad weather, as there really is nothing to dowith children except enjoying the beach and pool, but apart from that nothing to complain about. Excellent beds, spotless clean, good italian food, excellentsouth italian wines at reasonable prices, a nice bar but most of all, excellent staff. Most guests are "grandparent" generation rather then families with small children; we truky enjoyed that, but if you look for other children to play with, it is not the place to go.

“Perfect family friendly hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2010

We stayed at the Hotel Parco Smeraldo Terme this summer, mid July
2010. We are a family of five with three small kids.

We were very satisfied with our stay here and would definitely
recommend the hotel to friends and would very much like to return!

Staff: Friendly and helpful.

Rooms: Clean. We had the junior suite and had a lovely terrace that
we could use in the evenings and also whiles the kids were having
their afternoon nap. Only issue we had was that the air-conditioning
did not work at full effect during the day.

Restaurant: There was always the same buffet available for
breakfast, lunch and dinner, which in the long run can be a bit boring
but then to this they always had a varied menu of food. Staff were
friendly and also very accommodating with our children's wants and
needs.

Setting: Do not be fooled by other hotels that say that they are
situated on the beach. They are not always and this hotel is one of
the few that is!

The hotel has a basement floor that accommodates their natural spring
pool area with spa treatments. Children under 7 are not allowed but
then they allowed for our four year old to go as she suffers from
eczema. Which made her a world of good! This floor lies on the same
floor as their outdoor pool. This pool has a mixture of natural spring
water and salt water from the sea! And then from there you have easy
access to the beach, where the hotel has dedicated sun-beds and
parasols. There are a few bars along the beach where you can eat
lunch. The beach is made of tiny stones, not fine sand and not pebbles.

By the reception they have a small area, with a pond, that homes a
number of tortoises. My kids loved going there and could spend a long
time just watching them swimming around.

In the evenings you can call a taxi boat which will take you to nearby
St. Angelo (by road it's a lot longer) which was a very sweet village
by the sea.

In the evening they have a bar area with a large terrace where you can
relax and have drinks. Some evenings they had live music playing and
guests danced. My kids loved this!

Other: One note for a stay in Ischia. There is a place called Poseidon
Giardini Terme (www.giardiniposeidonterme.com). This is a large
organised area next to the beach focused on natural hot water spring
pools. Their website looks very luxurious. Don't know if this really
reflects the place. The place is huge with a large number of pools all
with different temperatures. I would say that its is quite weird to
enjoy sitting in a pool that has water with the temperature of 32
degrees when its as warm or even warmer outside. But it is definitely
an experience. We could not fully enjoy the different pools as kids
are not allowed! There is two small children pools and one larger
training pool where kids are allowed. We took turns trying out the
other areas but it was a bit of a disappointment as we had imagined it
almost like a theme park for kids as well as a wellness area for grown
ups.

“Wonderful stay in a gorgeous location”

Had a lovely week here with my wife and young toddler, the staff are friendly and extremely helpful, and the setting is truly beautiful. Rooms are clean and bright, and the food is superb and good value for money. Will definitely stay here again!

“Total relaxation in paradise - Wonderful staff”

My family and I just returned after staying 8 days at Hotel Parco Smeraldo Terme. We enjoyed every minute of our stay at this hotel. The staff are absolutely wonderful and helpful in every way possible. We chose the half board option with dinner at the hotel and the meals were wonderful and truly Italian. This was the most pleasurable experience we have had in all our travels to Italy. My family and I will certainly plan to return again and again. It was very difficult to leave after experiencing complete relaxation in true paradise.
