“What a Great Place”

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful hotel for only one night as we were making our way back to Roma after visiting family in the south of Italy. This hotel is absolutely lovely. There is not one derogatory thing I can say about it. The interior of the hotel is tastefully and expensively decorated. There were only a handful of people staying there in August which is highly unusual for Italy so it was very quiet. I believe most of their business comes from catering weddings and special occasions. We had dinner at the hotel and Pino (Giuseppe) was our pleasant waiter. The food was very good and Pino suggested a vino that we very much enjoyed. The buffet breakfast was typical for Italy and we enjoyed it al fesco. Dinner was also enjoyed outside. MariaLousia, at the reception desk, was very helpful giving us directions to the beach.

It is a little difficult to find this hidden gem as it is somewhat out of town on SS170 which is an olive tree lined road. The best advice I can give you is that once you get into Andria, you follow the brown signs to the Castel del Monte which are posted all over and you will eventually see signs for the hotel.

We paid E90 to stay here in the middle of August which is considred a low price for this time of year. There is plenty of parking and breakfast is included in the price as it usually is in Italy. The hotel was very clean and the AC was fine.

Once again, I can't say enough about this fantastic hotel. One of the other guests, an Italian woman, put it perfectly - BELLISSIMA.

“A wonderful country hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 April 2008

The Tenuta Cocevola is a four-star hotel in a restored country "massaria" on the road between Andria and Castel del Monte. It's actually in the territory of Andria and not Bari which is quite distant. We spent three nights there in room 106 which while not very large, had the advantage of opening up onto a large terrace with beautiful views over the countryside and the town of Andria in the distance. The hotel's common areas and restaurant are very nice and its grounds are extensive, especially the olive groves outside the gate which made for pleasant strolling. We ate breakfast in the restaurant which served a reasonably nice buffet. We also took dinner there two of the nights and enjoyed the food very much, especially the local delicacies. There is much to see within a couple hours' drive of the hotel besides the wonderful Castel del Monte of Frederick II, such as Trani, Ruvo di Puglia, Altamura, etc. as well as Andria itself which is a very nice city of almost 100,000 people. To make the hotel perfect, they should consider putting in a pool, some tennis courts, gym, etc. to give guests something more to do, but for my wife and I (and our small dog), it was just fine and we'll certainly return there again some time. We paid 90 euros a night for the room which was the standard rate advertised in their web site. The staff was professional and friendly - I'd cite specifically Giuseppe in the restaurant and Marianna at the front desk.

“What a Real Pleasant Surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2007

We arrived late at night, had lost our way a bit and were relieved to
get to the hotel. As we approached we had to enter via elecric gates and we could see that the property looked something special. On checking in I asked where I could get a beer and the concierge replied in Italian the bar was beside him. We went towards our room and we could tell the hotel was going to be really nice and the room
simply confirmed all our thoughts--Wonderful.

Before I could return to the bar i oipened the door and the concierge had broght me a beer to our room--how pleasant was that? Morning and the breakfast proved to be a nice experience as well and as we took a wander around the hotel and its extensive grounds we realsied we had stumbled on a GEM of a hotel at fantastically low price rate of 75 euro per night per room. We decided to eat at the hotel as it was not too near a large town/city and everything turned out to be as good and exciting as the rest of our stay. Prices were extrememly reasonable. We only wished we had booked in for longer than 2 nights as it is one of the few places both my wife and I would
happily return to. Note however that the hotel is a bit isolated Great for getting away from it all but liable to become a bit boring if you like a bit of life. Excellent nonetheless.
