“weekend break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Went up last weekend with an itison deal and had a great time. Room was big and the bathroom off it was a lovely warm shower room. Lounge area was really cosy to sit in and the staff even let us drink our own wine there! Food served at the restaurant was suprising good but dinner is only served till 830. Breakfast was good as well and you get a choice of continental, american or a scottish fry - all incl in room price! Only minor negative was a slight smell of damp in the room

I believe they offer discounts on your stay if you are doing a nae limits activity.

“Night away ....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Had a lovely night away at the log cabin hotel - had picked up a deal through itison for a night there for my and husband for £39. Setting is great, hotel is lovely and staff are friendly. We also took our dog and it was no problem to allow him to lie in the lounge area with us which was nice. The lounge and bar area is lovely...open fire, comfy couches. The food is great as well and reasonably priced. Breakfast was good too. My only complaint is that the room we were given - room 12 - had a stained bathtub (had obviously been cleaned with blue cleaner of some kind which had stained it) and there was no shower. It was clean though as was the bedroom...and cosy warm. The bathtub needs replaced...just doesn't look very good! The chest or drawers in the bedroom are also very old and could do with replacing. Bed was comfy, clean and warm. Despite my moans, I did enjoy it and it wouldn't put me off going back! Might even take the kids next time!

“Weekend break”

We arrived at Log Cabin Hotel (2nd December) to find it had just been taken over by new owners and only been reopened for a week, our welcome was warm and friendly. Our room was clean, warm and cosy and when we arrived later for dinner the open log fire was burning and there was a lovely Christmas tree, it was very festive and cosy.We said it would have been lovely to have snow and on our second night as we were sitting at dinner the snow came on and it was just beautiful looking out, it was like a scene from a film. We will definately be back.

“better than before”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

The Log Cabin Hotel has been taken over by new management. We stayed there last week end and found it was a lot better than it used to be. The heating is on all the time for a start, and that makes it toasty warm when you come in from the forest. Being a log cabin it's always had that extra special something but now the big open log fires are burning all the time and they've put in lots of big comfy couches, rugs and throws(from Ikea it looks like). The whole place has a trendy retro boutiquey feel, like something out of a 70s cinzano advert. They are very kid friendly, they even have a games/play room where you can park the kids and the bar is open all the time, result!

“Amazing location”

Wanting an escape from the city, The Log Cabin Hotel couldn’t have been a more perfect retreat! I jumped out of the car and was immediately snapping pictures of the jaw dropping scenery. The hotel was cosy and retro funky! I can easily imagine sipping Martini here in the 70's on a skiing trip! The rooms were homely with a comfortable wet room and good shower.
The staff were fabulously helpful, flexible and hospitable, the bar lively and friendly. Overall a great place that I would recommend.
