We stayeded in the log cabin hotel for our Honeymoon, I cannot recommend the staff or the food enough as both were fantastic. We were made to feel at home by Jenny and her staff. The views from the cabin were breathtaking, we even had Deer outsie our room window. We will definatley be going back next year. If you are looking for a quiet break then this is the place for you.

The staff were particularly sensitive to our late check in and management flexible to our group in relation to our booking. Excellent value for money and location. It is acknowledged in view of the general woodland feel of the environment limited space in cabin particularly in regard to proximity of toilet / shower facility toward bedrooms. This is an ideal place to "get away" and as a base for the surrounding areas.

We stayed in the Log Cabin hotel and tood a family room for four for one night on the way to and from our main holiday destination in Helmsdale. Whilst the room was not the biggest in the world, the food and hospitality were fantastic and my two boys are already asking if we can go back to the Log Cabin for our main holiday next year! The location is beautiful and whilst we didn't do much except enjoy the hotel, it looks like there's plenty to do in the surrounding area. It's a family friendly hotel which has a lovely informal atomsphere. Jenny the owner was one of the nicest people we've ever met and her attention to ensuring our stay was enjoyable on our first visit, meant we were really looking forward to going back there on our way home. Wish we had had the time to stay longer!

For our two week trip around England and Scotland, our family enjoyed this hotel the most of any others we stayed at. Great, comfortable rooms (bunk beds for our teenagers), and the dinner and breakfast were excellent. Located in the woods near the very quant town of Kirkmichael, it was amazing relaxing. Deer outside our window; nice trails for walks, and just a very pleasant area. The hotel itself had pool and darts, along with free internet. A great place to get off the beaten path and enjoy Scotland in a very rural, friendly setting.
We stopped there on our way from Inverness to Edinburgh, and although it was about a 10 mile diversion off the main road, it was well worth the trip.
