We stayed at the Ramgarh Bungalows for 2 days in January 2012. The accomodation consists of four nicely done up old British bungalows with live fire places that are still operational and add that English charm to the entire room. The room decor is done as per the theme of the room, like Yellow, Green, Butterfly, Bird, English etc. We stayed at English room, which had old fashioned king bed, large oil painting, old pictures, lithographs, wooden wardrobe and of course a fire place.....The verandah outside was perfect for afternoon tea with lovely views. The dining area and recetion is a sepearte block with fruit trees all around and have full panoramic views of himalayan ranges. The food served is amazing and has whole lot of local ingedients (for foodies- pls ask chefs to cook local delicacies). The breakfast is by far the most enjoyable meal and is accompanied with fresh jams, juices and preserves made in house. (The staff would be more than happy to show you around the small production unit stacked with bottles of plum, peach, pear, apple and malta preserves and juices.)
We were lucky enough to experience snowfall during our stay and drove to Mukteshwar in snow.....cann't describe that magical experience.
Staff is very courteous and helpful. The entire team led by Mr Shailender made us feel at home through out the stay.
Its a place where once is never enough.....will have to be back in spring to see the orchards in full bloom.
