The Ramgarh Bungalows had been my nemesis for the last 2 years, wherein I was trying to go there but everytime something or the other happened. Finally this year I was able to make it possible and am glad that I did. I am completely at loss of words while describing the place as well as the hotel. A nature lovers delight, it is far away from the madding crowd and is not your usual hill station. Quite, romantic and peaceful is how I would describe it. If you plan to relax and not do anything then Ramgarh is the place to be. The non hotel hotel is in itself a masterpiece, set in fruit orchards with awesome views, nice comfy rooms, hospitable staff and awesome food. I spent 3 days there and it seemed so less.....

We stayed at the Ramgarh Bungalows for a day on the way back from up in the mountains.
Its very well located, not too much in the hills and just about an hour from Kathgodam which is the last point before you enter the hills.
They have some beautifully maintained set of old British time bungalows, not very fancy nor too expensive.
Really nice place to just relax and have a good time. They even have fruit trees in the premises where you can pick the fruit and eat them if you wish!
Will definately plan to come back here!

We booked this hotel after doing a lot of research online. This was going to be a short summer break, and the last thing we wanted was a hill-station full of tourists and their screaming kids. A friend recommended Ramgarh, a quaint little town about half an hour from Nainital and this hotel in particular, which is a Neemrana property.

The location of this hotel is absolutely terrific! During our entire stay (3 days) there I think we heard /saw a total of 5 cars. There are a few bungalows, and the one we were in (I think it was called Ramkumar) had just two suites and overlooked a cliff. The second suite was empty so we had the entire place to ourselves! The staff is absolutely terrific, to the extent that there was a guy standing outside the hotel waiting for us on the day of our arrival even though we hadn't told them the exact time when we would be arriving. The rooms themselves are big and comfortable. The only downside (a big one) is the presence of a lot of cockroaches in the rooms.. On our second day we had to buy ourselves a bug spray and keep the room fumigated almost throughout.

As mentioned before, Nainital is about half an hour away if you feel like going there. Mukteshwar is also a short drive away.

Overall, highly recommended, EXCEPT for the bugs.

We stayed at the Ramgarh Bungalows for 2 days, and booked the 'English' room. The property is a beautiful one, and each of the 3 bungalows has a history and charm of its own. The room is done up nicely with pre-Independence maps of India and small paintings. The verandah has a lawn in front where my 2 year old son had a great time, playing with a slide that was thoughtfully installed by the hotel. On each side of the hotel, one has views of the valley beyond and one can, in fact, sit on one of the extended verandahs that also doubles up as a rooftop restaurant and order fresh juice while enjoying the valley view. As regards food, there is a fixed menu so not much choice there-but the food was so tasty it made up for the lack of choice. Breakfast was however a disappointment with not much to look forward to except for some of their home-made jams. Overall, the hotel is good for a 1-2 day stay with not much to do but laze around or go for small treks in the surrounding hills.
