Getting there-
We traveled by road from Delhi, not the wisest course of action as a train to Kathgodam and then hitting the road is the best way to get there. You need to cross Haldwani and then climb to Bhowali and beyond. Ramgarh bunglows is located 3 km off Nalla Ramgarh (lower Ramgarh)
You have just got to be prepared for the LONG drive !
Remember, that time is of little significance in the hills. (This in no way means that the Neemrana staff is lax or tardy- quite the opposite !! )
Stay -
At Ramgarh bunglows one relaxes completely, forgetting that they ever have any worries or worldly cares. The facility's old world charm engulfs you completely and the rooms are charmingly decorated - with careful detail tea tables complete with silver coated tea things, cloth covers ; fireplaces with wodden mantelpieces, poker and ash dusters and a blowpipe. The gardens outside have pretty flowers and breathtaking views..
Do and see -
There are many forest trails that you can amble along - just be careful not to lose yourself completely which also can occur though pleasantly enough and its not in the least dangerous. I also strongly suggest taking in a sunrise trip to nearby mukteshwar where you can watch the snowcapped himalyas turn pink then golden and then awashed with sunlight.
Eat
You can choose to eat at Neemrana. Breakfast is complimentary, and very hearty! Try as you will - you cant have enough of the fresh peach juice! Meals are not inclusive but should be tried at least once, they are completely worth the asking price of 300/- per meal per head.
Incidentals-
What they sometimes forget to tell you is that each 'bonfire' without which you cannot possibly live in winter at least - is for a price. Check the cost beforehand. Other than that do keep a few hundreds handy for the inevitable purchase of jams and juices that you will make at the Neemrana plant. Its better than anything youve tasted out of a preserve jar by far !

There are very little distractions in this place - you may want to carry a paintbox and sketchbook and if going, NEVER forget your camera, charger and walking shoes.

The nemrana property at Ramgarh is just fantastic, It has really nice old style cozy rooms with personalized service. Outside the room there's a small green land where you can spend evening time & have some evening snack with drinks and overlook the valley. The breakfast was not too great but the location & the naturalness of the place covers for it.

There are orchards around the place & you can go for a short hike in the surrounding area to & the farmers might offer you to pluck some fresh Plums.

All in in all a place where you can have a relaxing vacation away from the madeness of the city life.

it is a perfect location to stay if one wants to get relaxed and do some long walks/cycling/nature watching. go for 2-3 days.food is excellent.service is very good..nature/bird watching and relaxing while doing nothing .would like if they can add a small spa there.

The property is located in Ramgarh, a somewhat remote village in Kumaon. It is a very peaceful small place surrounded with fruit orchards. One can see apples, plums and peaches growing everywhere.

The hotel is satisfactory on all the usual parameters - nice clean ethnic rooms, modern toilets, homely food, friendly staff. It is a small property with 5-6 rooms only.

This is not a tourist location but a genuine Himalayan village. Its remoteness will work for some people - quiet laidback place, no crowds, no noise, no pollution at all (we saw millions of stars at night!). But most people will be totally bored out of their minds. There is not much to do around the place, except visting an orchard. We had booked it for 2 nights but found it too depressing and seriously thought about checking out after the first night itself.

This is a place for someone seeking solitude, who just wants to lie back and read a book, take a leisurely walk, absorb the lush green mountain scenery. Others might just want to head for someplace nearer to the tourist trail.
