“A Classic..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

We stayed for 3 nights at the Eagle House, located near Bath. It is a lovely B & B, with many period decorations. The room (top floor, limited view) was quite nice, with full bath en suite. The proprietors/hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was extended continental style and more than adequate. Full breakfast was available at additional cost. It is a bit 'off the beaten path' and a car is very useful/recommended. We enjoyed that it is outside of the very busy city of Bath. Walking distance to the Kennett/Avon Canal and Bathampton.

“Charming B&B in Bathford”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2010

We enjoyed our stay at Eagle House although as mentioned in previous review the water pressure in the bath in absolutely horrendous. Our room named "Holly" was very spacious which was located above the reading room on the second floor. The fresh squeezed orange juice was a little bit of a chore but well worth the effort. Both owners were extremely helpful which made our stay very enjoyable.

Pros:
Quiet Location
Reasonable Price
Firm yet Comfortable Bed
Free WiFi in the Room

Cons:
Low Water Pressure
Limited TV channels [only 2]

We are delighted that, overall, these customers enjoyed their stay at Eagle House but sorry they exp erienced a problem with water pressure and with the TV. Regarding the former, it is most likely that they, coincidentally, were attempting to bath/shower at the very same moment as many others staying. Neither these guests nor anybody else mentioned anything at the time so it's difficult to pinpoint. Re. the TV's we did, unfortunately, encounter some technical difficulties at the time of digital switch over so apologies are most certainly due there.

Lived up to our expectations.
Large spacious property, convenient for Bath, charming and helpful hosts, peaceful location, clean and comfortable bedroom.
First on our list when we visit Bath again.

“Really Lovely, Charming, a Peaceful and Elegant B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 May 2010

If big-screened TV's and modern decorating are your thing, this is not the place for you. On the other hand, if you love a beautiful stone guesthouse with soaring ceilings and charming antiques (as well as very generous rooms), this is your place. It's really a lovely place, set back well away from main roads, but a short walk to the bus to Bath (15 min). The hosts are very kind and welcoming. Breakfasts are excellent. The grounds are far above average for a B&B, featuring a massive and spectacular Copper Beech tree (and a great rope swing for the adventurous) in the very large garden. Our family of 4 loved it. Pros: quiet location, lovely period architecture and decoration, gracious hosts. Cons: Poor water pressure in shower
