This is a magical place under every point of view . It is hard to find any information about it as the landlords there keep it as a secret and this is well undertandable once you stepped in . Athena and Alistair Mac Alpine , the owners of this place are opening the doors of their sacred residence to few guests. Rooms are just 8 and we did stay for 13 nights in the mexican styled that pparentely is also the larger one .
This mansion is providing you that extra feeling that you will never be able to find in a normal structure . Breakfast is served for all the guests together that sit around the long table, and there you can find anything you like , fruits, jams , bread ,juices, teas and coffees that will match your tastebuds. If something is not there simply ask as here everyone will do whatever possible to make you feel relaxed . Manuela and Pierluigi oversee the kitchen and do prepare tasty Italian meals for lunch ( included in the room rate ) or for those staying also for dinner. Dinner is quite a sensorial experience where the atmossphere plays a role as importand as the food. Annarita and Antonia they are in charge of keeping rooms in the best and cleanest way ( they iron the bed sheets directly on the bed ) and they also make sure that your garments are impeccably cleaned ( laundry service is included in the rate) . The convento is then a sort of museum based on the ethnical treasures Alistair has been collecting all over the world, he will be able to tell you anything about each single piece. There are thousands of books that could keep you busy reading them for the rest of your life. The gardens are purely reflecting the iconic perspective this place has, cactues and flowers of any type are apparentely naturally spreaded bu the result is simply amazing . Look around in this gem, there will be hundreds of details that are left to your eyes to be discovered .
I do not want to tell you too much , this is such an intriguing destination that surprise must be left to those , as us, lucky and patient enough to find the way to this magnificent existing dream.
There is no TV, no Internet , mobiles are just silent ,just youself , but as my daughter realised you can live happily also without
One of the best experience of a life spent in hotels ...as you probably noted I never used the word hotel to describe Il Convento as it does deserve its own world.
