We found this hotel to be clean and with an attractive foyer to lounge and read. The pools and garden areas were lovely and extremely well kept. The staff were really great and made us welcome and comfortable with extra blankets for cold nights.

Dislikes:
the lack of a nice restaurant, it was more a dining hall with bright lights
the same food or variations on the same every night and the food is geared towards the tourists
the clientele who stay in this hotel
the plastic cups in the bar
the bar - depressing place with drink all you can clientele
our room was only serviced once - we arrived on a Saturday and left on a Wednesday - the sheets were never changed
only one sheet on the mattress
no shower gels/lotions only soup in the bathroom
not beach front - there's a building in front and the beach is in front of this building
the snacks between meals - burgers, sausages, chips
poor WIFI

We went all inclusive because it was not much more than the cost of bed and breakfast. The place has a strange atmosphere due to the clientele who stay here, that was our experience. We also missed the usual facilities, such as indoor pool, heated pool, massage and pampering facilities. It's a good 3 star hotel but not really for us.

Although this is not the most attractive hotel from the outside, inside it is clean and nicely decorated with friendly and helpful staff. We opted for a sea view room as a lot of reviews said they were quieter, which it was, although the hotel was pretty quiet anyway. Saying that, the view from a sea view room isn't the best as it overlooks rough building plots, but it suited us. The room was cleaned 5 days a week by the maids and is kept spotless with a change of towels etc. We have visited El Cotillo many times but until now have not stayed there. The village is very quaint and just a 5 minute walk from the hotel with a few nice restaurants and a supermarket just on the outer road to the village. The hotel has only two floors but has no lift which was ok for us but may not suit everyone. The food was average but edible and there was probably something for most people, although there were no cold meats in the evening and the soup on one night resembled green wallpaper paste. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was good. If you're looking for a lively hotel with lots of entertainment and lots of local facilities then this isn't for you but, we had a good stay and would return to this hotel again.

At the risk of repeating all that has been said before ...

Excellent value - very clean - peaceful location - food pretty good -hard to find any fault !

Easy to reach by bus .....Airport to Puerto del Rosario, Puerto to Corralejo, Corralejo to El Cotillo .....simples !!

This hotel was lovely and so were the staff. I've seen some reviews on here where this place gets a slating - from what I can see these people either should have booked a resort like Corralejo for clubbing or spent a bit more if they'd wanted 5 star!

What we wanted was a relaxing week in the sunshine with no fuss at a reasonable price - Cotillo Beach delivered.

When we arrived check in was quick (3 mins max) and the receptionist was even thoughtful enough to suggest we leave our cases and go straight to lunch as it was only open for 15 mins more. As it happened this didn't really matter as there were sandwiches, snacks, cakes and icecream available all day anyway.

There were about 120 guests with a maximum capcity of around 400 (I'd estimate). There was lots of space and plenty of sunbeds. It might become crowded in high season but as there are literally miles of beautful beaches at the (small) resort, there would be plenty of room for everyone.

The food was really good - school dinners rather than Michelin star chefy but what do you expect for the price? Full Englist breakfast, always plenty of choices of salad, main courses, separate section for grilling fish, kebabs and roast meat. The choice for vegetarians could have been better. The food wasn't always piping hot but was usually about right and there was a microwave if you needed it. I suspect in high season the faster turnaround of food will ensure that it is hot.

The rooms all have balconies, are spacious, reasonably well eqipped (no kettle), clean and the maid service was excellent.

The hotel is a short walk from the old harbour with a range of lovely little bars and restaurants, it is very picturesque and relaxed. A small, traditional fishing village. There are several large sandy beaches with shallow water, these were virtually deserted while we were there 2% of the capacity used.

They seem to have a very limited range of CDs for music in the bar so if you're going you might want to create a compilation and take it with you - I'm pretty sure they play it too !
