We booked this short stay via EasyJet, using their website. We wanted a cheap short-stay stop-over, and this was extremely cheap at £27 per night (the all-in price for two adults). The advertised apartment offered a self-catering apartment 15 metres from the beach, with one bedroom, the usual WC bathroom and shower, open-plan living room and kitchen.
The apartment was a bit difficult to find and to get the keys we had to go to the Riviera Beach hotel about a mile away. A hotel handiman working on an apartment nearby offered to guide us in his white van - he saw us looking perplexed and offered his services using sign language and smiles.
The locality is very low costa, small, rather claustrophobic warrens of stucco villas and apartments, with (mainly) shut up restaurants and a few deeply tanned elderly folk strolling the beach or chatting outside the few bars open in November.
The second-floor apartment (up four flights of marble stairs - no lift) overlooked a very nice, very safe beach, no more than 15 metres to the sea, with uninterrupted sea views from the small balconies to living room and bedroom. We were surprised to find the apartment scrupulously clean, in good order, and comfortable, with everything needed for self-catering, even a new wash-up cloth, pan scrubber and washing up liquid in a plastic envelope. Linen and towels were spotless. Our apartment had two bedrooms rather than the advertised one. An oil-filled radiator kept us warm when the evening chill set in. TV showed seven channels, all in Spanish.
Our only criticism was that there was no adjacent parking, and some of the electrical fittings (plug outlets) were a bit wobbly.
Staff at the host hotel were charming and helpful, indeed the hotel (Riviera Beach) looked very inviting and modern, although not so near the beach (five minutes walk).
This was a very impressive package, and we would strongly recommend it at the price we paid.
Final note of caution: although EasyJet advertise the apartment as Alicante, it is in fact at least 65 km from the airport, or 45 minutes drive from El Altet (Alicante). The nearest large town is Torrevieja to the North: there are smaller towns nearby including Pilar de la Horadada (about 3 km), but not much by way of out-of-season amenities or shops. You must have a hire-car to get around, public transport is non-existent.
