This hotel is simply wonderful! amazing pool, spa and on site restaurants, even it's own Irish bar!

Only downside (for some people) might be its location it's a bit out of town, however the facilities on site mean you really wouldn't need to leave. Los alcares is only a short taxi ride away though. Los alcares has a nice beach and loads of restaurants

Loved the room and the public areas, very comfortable and luxurious. Good bar, with reasonably priced cocktails. However, the bar food and restaurant food was uninspiring and over priced. At the bar I woulld recommend the hamburger and the cheese selection.

Service was very good, attentive and polite staff who were always ready to help.

stayed at the Mar Menor Hotel , last month, a trip with some friends and was the best attention I received long time ago, an unforgettable experience, I must emphasize the work of the front desk, in a very efficient and effective way but on all the receptionist the one who is named David helped me a lot in the resolution of some claims that i had,a good worker,,,,, thanks a lot InterContinental Mar Menor Golf Resort & Spa and for sure see you soon

Visited this month for a 4 night trip with my wife and young daughter.

This hotel is part of the large Mar Menor Golf Resort situated only a 15 /20 minute drive from San Javier (Murcia) airport.

Check in was efficient and the room (55sq ft suite) probably one of the best we have stayed in until about 11.00 p.m. when a large group of middle aged Scandanavian golfers decided to make as much noise as possible in the Clover Irish bar which was directly underneath the room.
One hotel employee referred to their behaviour as worse than teenagers.
This carried on until at least 1.00 p.m when a pillow over the head was the only way to have some sleep.

I do not blame the hotel for this excessive behaviour as they moved us without fuss (Thanks Jose) the following day but I am sure it happens frequently as the terrace is directly underneath the rooms on the 3rd floor.

The choice and quality at breakfast on each of the days was excellent with nothing too much trouble for the waiters and chef (awesome omlettes).

Due to being late in the season the outside pool was not heated therefore the inside pool (below the Spa) was used by us. Although on first inspection this pool looked fantastic I would be a little concerned at the cleanliness. We visited on consecutive days and a baby's nappy (daiper) which a guest had left (nice!) next to the pool was not taken away.This meant either sloppy cleaning or more likely no cleaning having been taking place. There was also a large number of tiles missing on the floor of the pool.

Apart from a snack in the golf bar we didnt eat in the hotel.

Due to its location a car is a must with Cartegna being the highlight of the trip.
Great tapas can be found in the centre of town at many bars but look for the one with the green parrot outside as their paella was excellent and a 4 course lunch with a wine or beer only cost 9 euro. The Teatro Romano Museum was superb and great value at 5 euro.

Probably wouldnt return to this resort which for only being 6 years old had a bit of a run down feel to it and I am sure there are more interesting parts of Spain as 4 days was about as much as you need in this area.

By the way if any of the Scandanavian golfers I came across read this then remember a little courtesy to hotel staff and fellow guests goes a long way!!
