Kausani is basically a silent village, with nothing much to do, except to watch the snow capped mountain and enjoy the sun rise, which is visible only if u r lucky enuf to have a clear sky, as any clouds obstruct the view of both the mountains and the sunrise.
4 of us travelled in the month of april 2011 to kausani. Reached kausani after a long days journey in late evening, visited the hotel, checked the rooms and decided to checkin due to the amazing location of the hotel. We were offered around 45% discount on the rack rate.
We preferred the rooms at ground floor due to easy access to garden and the location and the sitting area. Outside the room was a nice lounge / sitting area with 2 chairs and a table, which gave a breathtaking view of snow covered mountains. The rooms were spacious and neat, with a small tv, a double bed. On entering the room, immediately was a jharookha, ie a low sitting behind which were big windows giving a direct view of mountains, 2 chair on either sides and a breakfast table, making it a mini sitting area, followed by which was the double bed. Bathroom were nice, with running hot and cold water, a necissity at these places.
The best part of the hotel was the garden area with few chairs and tables being kept there. A stroll in the morning or evening was amazing and u could just relax with a cup of tea reading your favourite book or listening to some songs. The atmosphere was good and the location of the garden was icing on the cake.
We stayed 2 nights and were lucky to get a glimpse of sunrise and the mountains as the clouds got cleared.
Food was ok, though not extra ordinary. Overall the hotels scores due to the amazing location and the view from and outside the rooms and from the garden area.
