“A couple on nights in the mountains”

We were driving from the UK, down through France and Spain and decided to stay in the Las Alpujarras area. Casa Escocia was perfect, with great food and free wine and beer to keep us going. We made friends with Mary, her two daughters (Nicole and Lara) and their dog (Storm) even going for a couple of dog-walks during the limited time there.

Nechite is a very quiet village near the town of Valor, where good food and drink was to be found in abundance. The fact that the food came free with the beer was a real bonus and well worth the walk from Nechite to Valor over the hills.

We even found an excellent local winery that Mary recommended on our drive towards Almeria and filled the boot of our car.

It was a shame that Rob was not there to complete the family experience, but we have vowed to return and try and catch him next time.

“Peace, Tranqulity and Fabulous Food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2007

Casa Escocia is a beautiful traditional Spanish property with the most amazing views and tranquil setting. It was our first visit to the region and Mary was exceptionally welcoming and helpful during our short stay. The food was fabulous, excellent breakfast with more than enough choice for anyone. This was a real home from home stay, I would definately recommend to those looking for an activity holiday or just to relax and enjoy the setting. The perfect place to stay.

“Heaven on Earth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2007

Stayed at Casa Escocia with my wife and kids for one week and it was not long enough. It is the perfect stress busting holiday with stunning views from anywhere you care to look. The accommodation is excellent and en-suite. There is a great family atmosphere at Casa Escocia my children loved playing with hosts Rob and Marys two daughters Nicole, Lara and Storm the dog. The mountain biking is great with some very challenging routes from beginner to advanced and there is also a good stables nearby should you enjoy riding horses. I have saved the best till last ,The food is delicious!!!! Mary is a great cook every meal was a pleasure. In summary Casa Escocia is everything a holiday home should be and more.

ps. Ask about the wine tasting.

“We loved 'Getting amongst it'”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2007

It didn't matter if we were horseriding in the Sierra Nevada, relaxing by the pool, biking in the Alpujarras or hanging out at Casa Escocia with Rob, Mary, the girls and Storm, we had a perfect holiday. Freya and Lara loved the relaxed freedom and Jay and I loved kicking back and letting village life ease the stresses away. Fab place, fab company, fab food..... Just fabulous. Go on.. GET AMONGST IT!

“Best Holiday Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2007

We chose to stay at the Casa Escocia as it promised to provide both adventure and calm. This was certainly the case and our 3 young children were never without something exciting to do. Rob, Mary, Nicole and Lara made us very welcome and their house was comfortable and spacious. Mary cooked some delicious meals for us and the fresh bread each morning was wonderful.
The boys especially enjoyed their day out mountain biking when Rob and Mary took them high up the scenic mountains. Also the village pool proved very popular and we spent lots of time there. The local restaurants offer tasty meals and we enjoyed a few nights out. Mary and the girls joined us for a day at the beach in Almerimar which was fun.
Best of all, we were lucky enough to be part of the Valor Festival which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Enormous plates of paella were handed out and later there was a brilliant foam party afterwards. A fab day out.
We would not hesitate to recommend this holiday and hope to return here.
