“Underated - Should be Mitchlin Starred.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

This is absolutely fantastic place up untill a few years ago this was old house just off the A80 which valued its business on lunch and dinners in the fine cuisine restaurant with a lovely cosy bar area which also offered first class food and wedding per day, its gone from strength to strength. The food in this place should be mitchlin starred without a doubt its in a league of its own right down to the detail on the petit fours..
Oct 2010 I had my wedding here attention to detail I received was second to none.

This place now runs 2 weddings at a time in seperate buildings organisation!!!.
A few years ago they built a 21st century castle with 15 rooms/suites with sunken spa baths, wet showers all mod cons and each rooms is individually tastefully decorated, truly scottish, they also have the castle restauant by night and by day another area for functions.

Out the back of the castle is a truly unique wrought swing in the shape of a heart.

All your dreams can come true in this place because they have the right people looking after you I found nothing was too much for the Glenskirle.

Well Done.

Room Tip: Treat yourself of any rooms especially the Suite decorated in White. ( one is white & one is bl...

“Absolutely stunning”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

Could not have had a nicer weekend in the Glenskirlie Castle Hotel and Restaurant. So much detail and thought has gone in to making your stay special and it certainly pays off. The staff were fantastic - so friendly, accommodating and obliging. The rooms were stunning and the meal in the restaurant was one of the best I've ever tasted. This comes highly recommended and I know myself and my family will certainly be visiting here again.

“First Class”

Just spent a weekend in the hotel with my family to send off my brother as he prepares to emigrate to Australia. From the minute we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome by the exceptionally friendly staff. After checking in to our glorious room we returned downstairs to the reception for tea and coffee which staff brought to us in one of the lovely seating areas. Later on we went across to the restaurant where we all enjoyed a first class, 5 course meal......certainly the best meal I have ever had! Each course was an absolute delight and the serving staff were fantastic and could not have been more attentive. On returning to our room, we found 2 bottles of cold still and sparkling water, and a bed turndown with a small gift bag of Molton Brown goodies to take home. A lovely touch.
The bedroom was exceptionally nice and the bed was unbelievably comfortable.
Breakfast was very nice the next morning and the staff re arranged the seating to allow us all to sit together.
Before leaving, the housekeeper let us see one of the luxurious suites..........an absolute must see if you get the chance- absolutely stunning! I cannot recommend this hotel and restaurant enough and would like to thank Colin and all the staff for a truly fantastic stay.

Room Tip: Some rooms are luxury shower only and no bath so you may want to ask first. Some decor is dark and l...

“Fab!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

Spent ages looking at various castle hotels for a one night stay to celebrate a birthday before choosing the "ultimate in romance and perfect pampering" Molton Brown package at Glenskirlie House and Castle. Had a wonderful evening in the pink and black castle suite, enjoying champagne in the sunken bath and dinner by candlelight. The staff are great - helpful and friendly - the food is top notch and the suite is just FANTASTIC! If you want to relax with the one you love in a sunken bath the size of a hot tub, while sipping champagne and listening to your favourite tunes (we used the Ipod dock), knowing you are about to enjoy a delicious 3 course meal in your candle lit suite, book Glenskirlie. Full Scottish breakfast was, again, delicious and plentiful - tea and coffee facilities would be a good addition in the suite for early morning caffeine addicts. The castle is fun and funky and we loved it. Expensive? - Yes. Worth it? - Definitely.Would highly recommend this hotel and would book again in a minute.

“Perfect Wedding Venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

I got married at Glenskirlie Castle in May this year. I cannot recommend it highly enough! We had the most perfect day I could have imagined and every guest told us how much they loved it and how beautiful the venue was. From day one the staff were attentive, genuine, friendly and efficient at sorting out any little mishaps along the way. Having worked I hospitality myself I expected a very high standard and they definitely delivered. On the day itself the staff were all fantastic, especially Lynne and Julie. The food was amazing and plentiful, the BBQ at night was a massive hit with the guests. I honestly cannot find fault. It is not a bargain venue but you get what you pay for and in my opinion it was worth every penny. We also booked out all 15 rooms as there was not another wedding on the same day and all the guests loved them. The honeymoon suite was just lovely and what better way to top of your day than relaxing in a massive Jacuzzi bath with a bottle of champers...just topped it off.

I could go on and on but in summary it may not to everyone’s taste but was perfect to us. We loved the old meets modern feel to the castle and fell in love with it straight away, after seeing it I couldn’t picture myself being married anywhere else. The food and service were outstanding and they helped us accommodate all the extra little touches we wanted to have.

One little tip to any future brides/grooms out there, one of the best parts of the night that guests have told us about was having a firework display (Glenskirlie have a recommended company) whilst in the gardens having the BBQ. Was a great extra to the night!
