This small hotel is about a mile south of the seaside village of Sukosan, about 10 km south of Zadar. We chose it simply because my wife is Croatian and has family in Sukosan, so we weren't expecting much. In fact, we were delighted - they were tremendously friendly even before they knew she was a native, and indeed before any of us realised that they knew her family! The rooms are basic with only ensuite shower and WC, and you'll probably miss a bath eventually, but everything was very clean and well-maintained. Breakfast is also basic (bread, spreads, preserves) but there's as much coffee and juice as you want, cheerfully and efficiently served. Anton and his wife run the hotel with their two sons, and they were all unfailingly pleasant and friendly to everyone. The sea faces the hotel barely fifty yards away, there are bus stops nearby, and cafes and small shops all the way down the road into Sukosan. If you want satellite TV, internet access and a DVD player, you'll be disappointed, but why would you want to come to a beautiful country like this and sit in your room watching a screen?
