Sierra Lago takes a bit of effort to get to - particularly the last 18km (4 wheel drive and good ground clearence strongly recommended). Once you arrive, you are surrounded by natural beauty, quiet, helpful and attentive staff and fantastic food. There is as much (or as little) to keep you busy as you'd like - bikes to ride, a running path, spa, paddleboats, horses, gameroom, or a quiet room with fireplace for...whatever. You will not have cell phone access while there, or at least not as of the time of this writing, unless you arrange to go to a nearby mountaintop. The reception lobby does have wifi, but it's connected over the satellite so it's not always 100% and certainly not super-fast - but it works. We loved the resort. Definitely a great place to get away from everything. Americans should have a minimum of conversational Spanish. Some staff members do speak a moderate amount of English, but this is not a resort that is designed for party-hearty/loud/culturally unprepared tourists. We found that refreshing because we aren't any of those things. We'll definitely plan to return to Sierra Lago!!
