Stayed here for the second time in three years and will be making more frequent trips in the future. Made to feel very welcome by Ina , and the bar is a great place to relax for a drink before thinking about food. And the food, courtesy of Kieron....wow, fantastic food made on the spot using local ingredients. Never seen a more varied and interesting bar menu but we went for the full dining experience in the restaurant - without doubt the best food i've (and i think for once my wife will agree) had - everything cooked specifically for you, seasoned beautifully and with all sorts of interesting twists (e.g. apple flan with vanilla/mascarpone ice cream, apple sauce with cider vinegar and dehydrated raspberries on the side to add a crispy zingy kick). Room was very comfortable and clean with good satellite freeview. It's a 5 minute stroll down the hill to the Glenfinnan Monument at the end of Loch Shiel and a great view of the Harry Potter viaduct which you might be lucky enough to see the steam train going over. Plenty of wildlife around and very quiet in the evenings for a lochside stroll. Hotel only 20 minutes from Fort William on main road to Mallaig so we were lucky enough to get up Ben Nevis in good visibility. For walkers the Corryhully horsehoe is walkable from the hotel so no need to take the car out and the thought of such good food and warm welcome keeps you going on the way back.
