We stayed in this hotel for one week to tour the alps. It was a really nice small family run hotel, with large rooms and also very clean. We booked 4 rooms, and all were very cute and the bathrooms were nice. I personally stayed in the non-smoking house, which was nice and quiet. We all liked the food so much, that we ate dinner there almost every night. The staff was very helpful, and always gave us advice on nearby things to see. My dad had to leave early to catch a flight one day, and the owner packed him up a breakfast the night before for free! Of all the places we stayed on our trip, this was by far the best. I don't really have any negative comments except that if you don't have a car, you would have to take a bus to downtown Berchtesgaden because it is a bit too far to walk. We had a car and it only took us 5 minutes to get there. It was also within 10 minutes to the eagle's nest and salt mines by car. If you have time when you are there on a clear day, we did a great day trip to the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse...it was a beautiful scenic drive, but it does take about an hour and a half to get there. Well worth it though.
