Stayed here 2 nights. Had a great breakfast included. WIFI was not available in the room, could only get a signal on first floor, my room was on 3rd. Overall nice stay...

Perhaps it is because we came at a quiet time, or because we booked 2 months in advance... never-the-less, though we booked a standard room the owner gave us a suite! We had a bedroom, a kitchen/living area, and a huge bathroom.

Non-smoking is important to us and we discovered they have an entire buidling that is non-smoking. Our suite was on the first floor. Our son had a standard room on the second floor and he had a balcony running the length of the room.

The pine wood lining the walls was divine. The rouladin windows made our room nice and dark for sleeping at night. Though it wasn't air-conditioned, we brought our own little fan. They had a CD player in our suite, and alarm clock, TV, fridge, stove, etc. No microwave and no freezer. We bought ice cream bars at a local store and discovered no freezer the hard way! Too bad - we had to eat them right away!

Lots of space in the bathroom which had 2 sinks. A patio off our living room. If you wonder the room number we had, it was # 21.

The breakfast was great - typical for German breakfast. We had supper there one night too and it was delicious.

The advantage was the disadvantage. It was right off a main highway. Advantage : easy to find and easy to get around from there. Disadvantage : it had constant night traffic on that main road.

I felt pampered in this suite. It was sweet! I dug my nails in the ground when it was time to leave, as I didn't want to go home.

This place is terrific. There were seven of us so we booked four rooms. We had a whole floor to ourselves(it's a small place) which was nice because we had a terrace just for our use. We could sit outside in the evening looking at the Alps and in particular Hitler's Eagle's Nest perched on one of them, while talking about the day's events. The rooms are very nice, clean and modern and the staff very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast buffet was excellent as was the food at the restaurant. It has a really nice terrace which is open for supper. It's obviously very popular with the locals, because it was busy every evening we were there, understandably so because the food is so good!

Another good thing about this place is that at the reception office you can pay for and schedule a bus to pick you up right outside the hotel to take you to different tourist sites in the area. We did this to go to Salzburg. It was 10 Euros/person, round trip.

The hotel also has a washer and dryer for customers. It's handy but be warned the cost is 5 Euros to wash a load and 7 Euros to dry a load.

Across the road is a really nice, wide path along the beautiful mountain stream that runs through that area. It 's a great place to take an evening walk after a fabulous meal at the hotel restaurant.

We're very happy we stayed here.

I traveled to Germany with my parents, my husband and 2 kids (5 and 11).
We stayed in apartments 7 and 8. Apt. 7 was a standard hotel room with a kitchenette. Apt. 8 was a small 1-BR apt. with a kitchenette as well. The rooms were very clean. They were connecting rooms on the 3rd floor (no elevator). There was a washer and dryer downstairs with instructions in German---I figured it out somehow. The apartments are self-catering--there is no maid service and although there were linens and toilet paper, you have to bring your own soap, shampoo, dish soap, etc. Fortunately, there was a grocery store about a block away where we could buy milk, fresh bread, cold cuts, fruit, etc. The restuarant, Gebirgshausl, was wonderful. We ate there several times--the food is fresh and prepared to perfection. From this location we made day trips to the salt mines, Salzburg, cruise on Lake Konigsee and the Watzmann Therme (fun for adults and kids). The owners take a lot of pride in what they do. It was a pleasure staying there.
