“Modern hotel in charming medieval village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2010 via mobile

Stayed 2 nights in August 2010 for an average of 120€/night breakfast included. Some rooms with view of distant sea. Very nice modern hotel ideally located in Ruvo di Puglia, about 40km from Bari & 20km from the nearby coast. Standard rooms are clean and spacious with an extremely comfortable queen bed, a large desk area, a closet, a full-sized bathroom, a shower with 2 heads, lights turn on and off with the key card. Bar fridge & sat tv. Free wifi on request. Facilities include a bar, a restaurant, a fairly large swimming pool, a fitness room with Technogym gear, and a spa center. The staff are extremely helpful and speak good English.

“Good quality price in the middle of nowhere”

we went to Ruvo di Puglia for the fair of Cardoncelli mushrooms in November and stay in the best hotel of the city in order to move by walk. But the walking distance was a bit far for us with our baby. And without the event and a few place to drink and eat it would have been like to stay in ghost city. We were expecting more from the fair but we like to have a glass of wine at Angolo divino and simply eat a burrata chesse bought at the supermarket with a local peace of bread and olive oil we baught at Frantoio (Ostuni) where we sincelerly prefered for walking in the parc, talking about the Puglia cooking with the girl at reception and listening to the history of the place.
The breakfast in Pineta is not at the same height of the rest of the Hotel services.

“La Pineta - Sleek and Modern”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2010

We chose this hotel as a base for visiting Puglia - Grotte Castellana, Alberobello and Gargano. We wanted something modern as opposed to traditional, and were very pleased with our choice, especially as we were given an upgraded room. We had one dinner at the hotel where we were almost the only diners: very graceful and attentive service (we felt it would have been thus even with more tables to serve), but fairly ordinary, bland cooking. In fact, food throughout the region was a big disappointment. The hotel has a secure underground car-park, which is free.

“Excellent base for northern Puglia”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2009

I was sure that some website said that some of the rooms had balconies or terraces but they assured me at check-in that they didn’t. What did surprise me, given that the hotel was less than half full, was that we were given a room on the first floor at the back with a view of a wire fence when, as we discovered later, the front of the hotel has a wonderful view down towards the coast. Did they not want to create a good impression? Be sure to request a sea-view either when booking or at check-in. Stylish public areas.
Good size bedroom with comfortable bed and pillows. Stylish bedroom and bathroom. However we came to the conclusion that it must have been designed by a man: no mirror in bedroom, very limited space to store clothes apart from desktop, poor lighting due to stylish but opaque lampshades. There were also no tissues in the bathroom, no iron, the shower sprayed everywhere and the sink wouldn’t hold the water. The bathroom had also only been kitted out for one even though we had booked for a double – presumably they were in winter-business-man mode?
On the very plus side the dinner in the restaurant was among the very best of our two week touring holiday. Breakfast was fine – coffee was strong but didn’t have a good flavour, and the selection wasn’t great – fairly understandable given low number of residents.
Disappointing on check-out to find that we had been charged for dinner on two nights instead of one. The restaurant bill clearly had our room number and in theory we had little redress. We made the point that they should get the punters to sign for charges to the room and hopefully they will act on that. To give them their due they deleted the second dinner without much ado.
Hotel isn’t in the best part of town and the surrounding are is fairly unattractive. However we walked into town both evenings and felt quite comfortable. The hotel grounds are again stylish with a nice pool.
We would definitely go back if we were in the area again.

“Lovely clean modern hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2009

A clean, modern, efficiently run hotel on the outskirts of this bustling city. We had a lovely stay here, staff very friendly, spoke remarkably good English, did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable, recommending some really great places to eat. Not the easiest place to find though! Pool and other leisure facilities first rate. Safe underground parking. Breakfast fine if a little uninspiring, but typical of the type of hotel, efficient ,courtious staff on duty in the dining room and behind the bar. A good base to travel round the local area and very convenient for Bari airport for first or last hotel.
