“Badly needs refurbishent”

The reception area is perhaps the best thing in this property. The room we were given, had a tiny cupboard for a wardrope. There was no drawer space, unless you counted two cutlery drawers in a sideboard which housed blankets. No bedside tables or reading lamps. Kitchen floor was not at same level as kitchen counters. Why was there a very high step in front of the sink. No pool towels. We had to pay 22 euros to buy two towels at a supermarket. Safety deposit key is charged at 18 euros only 3 of which are returnable. The Sis Pins where we stayed in July only charge a 10 euro returnable deposit for safety deposit key for a fortnight, likewise for pool towels. All deposits are returnable there. The rubbish was not cleaned every day thus encouraging ants in the room. Although I have to say these were dealt with very quickly, No ironing board or iron as specified.
You could hardly hear yourself think in the lounge adjoining the restaurant for staff shouting at one another. Definitely one to be avoided.

stayed at the villa concha appartments oct 2011, average room , with balcony.
nice breakfast though ( 7 euros buffet) Dinner 14 euros buffet.( usual bland mix)
Pollenca is very quiet ,so if you like relaxing , this place is for you. pools absolutly freezing , we arrived at app 01:30 , could get nothing to eat, even though in your room there is information about getting something 24 hours a day ( just ask the reception) we did, and got nothing!!, walked around looking for a restaurant , every one closed. A nice pub around corner, cannot remember name, but you cannot miss it, it has a huge elephant standing outside, great place, lotsa music, friendly staff, open all hours( except mon & tues) .Beware of the ants marching through the rooms, buggers all over the place.all in all, quite a nice place if you are looking for rest lol.

Room Tip: rooms overlooking pool are better

“Beware of the ants”

Stayed here recently for 2 weeks end Sept into Oct. First impressions were very good. The studio rooms are of a good size, balcony easily sat four with room to move, kitchen area equipped well enough for breakfast and light meals. The hotel does need some minor updating - extractor fan in bathroom, storage and major issues with ants, even on the 2nd floor! Pool was clean if a little cold. Beer was one of the cheapest in the town. Staff were friendly. The location was lovely, minutes from the beach and seafront restaurants, most places doing a 3 course set menu with wine for around 15€. Would I come back again? Depends on my budget

“Just what we needed...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

Booked with Expedia (hotel, car rental which did not work at all - had to make our own arrangements and are still awaiting refund from Expedia - and flight from Edinburgh -Palma).

Excellent welcome although we arrived at 1am because of the delay due to needing to find an alternative car rental.

We asked for a quiet apartment with sunny balcony and got it. Clean spacious apartment was cleaned twice a week (we stayed two weeks) but you need to accept cleaning on the day it is offered! Downside - a very high step up from kitchen, bathroom and hallway to bedroom and living room. This first challenged then gradually strengthened my new knee.

We stayed 3-17 September. The pool was great. I did lots of exercising on the steps but it was fine for diagonal lengths too. The pool area is delightful - palm trees provide natural shade and somehow there was always a warm zephyr type breeze.

Agree with the comments about the dangerous positioning of socket in relation to hot plates. We didn't cook but had lots of rolls, fruit, cheese, fish, ham and salads and enjoyed eating out. We shopped at the big Eroski supermarket and nearby Spar.

We loved the location and swam in both the nearby sea and the pool. Puerto Pollensa was a delightful quiet resort. We also explored the beautiful island of Mallorca.

We went to the Inca market on Thursday but were concerned that the unwary might end up buying counterfeit 'designer' leather goods.

“Pleasant Surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

Booked this holiday at last minute me and my wife were looking for a quiet sunny week away and that's exactly what we got broke down holiday as follows:
1. Travel Company: Booked holiday with Jet2.com flight and transfer were excellent not one complaint in fact was pleasantly surprised with the legroom on a budget flight.
2. Accommodation: The Villa Concha was excellent we had booked room only, room was adequate clean but small we were not going to be making any meals in the room so the kitchen was for tea making only but would have found it difficult to cook a decent meal with the appliances provided only thing I will say is that it could do with a refurbishment as the rooms were a bit dated looking but on the plus side were very clean. Pool area and bar were lovely and the staff were very friendly on a whole I would sum up the Villa Concha as a great family friendly hotel.
3. Resort: Cant fault Puerto Pollensa beautifull and peaceful lovely restaurants and plenty bars and cafes for everyones liking.

Room Tip: Rooms that are not facing the pool are quieter, we were over the main hotel entrance which was fine...
