I'm writing this from a very cold and wet Galway in Ireland.
Just thinking about our holiday in Samos brings warmth to my bones. It's a lovely Island if you want a particular type of holiday - where you chill at the beach, swim, eat great food & all in all, relax. If you want to have an 'active holiday', I think another island will suit your needs better.
Anyway, Kerkis Bay is just a fantastic hotel. The rooms are nice and clean, the hotel staff are just lovely. Stella, the manager, is a lovely lady & went the extra mile for us (big-time) when we discovered that due to a ferry strike we would miss our flight home. She liaised with a local travel agent to sort out alternative travel. (Y'know the nice thing? I knew she would sort it out. Ever before this problem arrived, I had faith in the innate goodness of the people running this hotel.)
We couldn't believe the value of the hotel room. It cost us €30 p/night. In Ireland, a hotel such as this would be €100 p/night.
Equally, the food was lovely & so reasonably priced - each night we would have a 2X Two course meal with a bottle of lovely Samos wine for €30. Again, back home it would be twice this.
Some of the people we met in Samos holidayed there every year, just kept coming back.
I'd recommend you come & who knows, If we've enough of this weather, we might meet you there.
