I'm sure that if you stayed in this hotel in their one big room and in the summer months that it would be lovely. However, we stayed here in January, when the big room was (supposedly) already occupied (we never saw the people who were in there). Our room was very small, the bed was small and uncomfortable, there was no door on the bathroom, the shower was very small (although the hot water was hot, plentiful and powerful) and the room was generally pretty cold. All this would have been completely fine - it is only a small village after all. However, we were left with the impression that our stay was an imposition to our hosts. On the one night that we ate here, we were offered no menu but we were told what we would be eating. Again, this would have been fine, except that the food had clearly been prepared in advance and then microwaved for us - there was less than 2 minutes wait between our first and second courses. There was building work going on in the room next to ours for the last 3 nights of our stay (starting with very loud banging at 8am) which we were told nothing about. Our host, Paco, was indeed charm itself, but charm can only go so far when there is no consideration to back it up. In the winter months there is also only a very small space inside to sit and relax in if you don't want to stay in your room. Often this was off-limits to us as the friends of the hotel owners were then. Again, in the summer there is a lovely terrace to sit on, so this would not be a problem.
In summary, if you come in the summer and stay in the big room I am sure your stay here will be great. If you are coming in the winter, I wouldn't bother.

We stayed two nights at this hotel and could not have been made more welcome. Paco was an excellent host. The ambience is wonderful, location couldn't be better. We would definately return.

I can add little if anything to the adulation given by the previous reviewers! Paco and Lola are wonderful hosts, and Lola is a wonderful cook. The rooms are individually decorated and clean, the meals are superb, and the terrace over looking the gorge is fantastic. We stayed there with friends ( 2 other couples) for 4 nights and all felt very welcome. Paco in particular has a great personality, and his refusal to speak anything but Spanish added to the experience, even though our Spanish was very limited

We stayed here for 3 nights in early April and were totally smitten. The hotel is tiny (6 rooms) and has a view to die for over the Tajo canyon. Our room was beautifully clean, spacious and had a private terrace with two sunbeds and the same wonderful view. Paco, the owner, and his wife Lola couldn't be more friendly and helpful - he not only showed us where to start our walk, he took us there. The food in his restaurant was really good: almond and asparagus soup and a wonderful steak for me, carrot and nutmeg soup and brilliant pork for my partner. Breakfast was also an experience - fresh coffee, orange juice, boiled eggs, chorizo, local yoghourt. Fresh fruit available to take out on the great walks in the area. One day we'd been out walking and came back to the hotel with aching legs to be greeted by Paco "hey - una copita con mi" (have a little drink with me) and he treated us to some local wine. Another evening he explained that the restaurant would not be open as Sunday was his night off - "but help yourselves to wine, beer... just leave me a note". When we enquired about the possibility of a taxi to the airport he decided he would take us himself, allowing us to keep our room until 7 p.m. so we could enjoy our last day to the full.

Probably one of the nicest places I have ever stayed; I would recommend La Seguiriya and Alhama de Granada to anyone who loves walking, listening to birdsong, magnificent scenery, rivers and waterfalls, tapas, good food and wine.
