“Great find”

Great little hotel if a little difficult to locate at first. Enter from the street into cosy dining area and then onto a terrace with spectacular views over a gorge to the mountains. You could eat and drink out here. Our room was off the terrace and was very clean and comfortable, the shower was excellent. The menu is small but excellent quality. Breakfast is also good quality local fare. The person who makes this place is the host. He is very likeable and can’t do enough for you. We stayed 2 nights, had one meal, plenty to drink (2 people) and it cost less than £200. A great little hotel that I would thoroughly recommend, that is also a short walk to town.

“Great rustic hotel with lots of charm and good service ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2011 via mobile

Hotel with lots of rustic charm. Arrived in the middle of summer and found the room cool and comfortable (no air-con). As with many rustic hotels in high areas it could be cold in winter. Very clean and comfortable. Great food and superb views from the private restaurant terrace. Fantastic location for walks and relaxing with some wine on the terrace enjoying the sunset. Free parking on street opposite. We will come back 

“Stunning location and views, warm and generous hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2010

In the hot month of July 2010 we had a great week at la Seguiriya. We arrived in the evening, and were welcomed with one of Lola's perfect dinners and Paco's generous and warm hospitality. The stunning view could really only be fully appreciated next morning, when the gorge of Alhama river basked in the morning sun.
Each day started with Paco's deliciously simple local-ingredients-breakfast. Between our walks into the river gorge or into town, and our trips to (a.o.) Granada and Sevilla, there were the many hours of relaxation and reading in their beautiful courtyard full of flowers, or simply of enjoying the unbelievable view.
We have fond memories of la Seguiryia's stunning location and views, and thank the Fernandez family for their warm and generous hospitality that made this week so special.

“Make sure you get the big room and that you come in the summer”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2010

I'm sure that if you stayed in this hotel in their one big room and in the summer months that it would be lovely. However, we stayed here in January, when the big room was (supposedly) already occupied (we never saw the people who were in there). Our room was very small, the bed was small and uncomfortable, there was no door on the bathroom, the shower was very small (although the hot water was hot, plentiful and powerful) and the room was generally pretty cold. All this would have been completely fine - it is only a small village after all. However, we were left with the impression that our stay was an imposition to our hosts. On the one night that we ate here, we were offered no menu but we were told what we would be eating. Again, this would have been fine, except that the food had clearly been prepared in advance and then microwaved for us - there was less than 2 minutes wait between our first and second courses. There was building work going on in the room next to ours for the last 3 nights of our stay (starting with very loud banging at 8am) which we were told nothing about. Our host, Paco, was indeed charm itself, but charm can only go so far when there is no consideration to back it up. In the winter months there is also only a very small space inside to sit and relax in if you don't want to stay in your room. Often this was off-limits to us as the friends of the hotel owners were then. Again, in the summer there is a lovely terrace to sit on, so this would not be a problem.
In summary, if you come in the summer and stay in the big room I am sure your stay here will be great. If you are coming in the winter, I wouldn't bother.

We stayed two nights at this hotel and could not have been made more welcome. Paco was an excellent host. The ambience is wonderful, location couldn't be better. We would definately return.
