“Lovely holiday :)”

My partner and I went to the Presidente for a week, all inclusive in June. The hotel is a little dated but comfortable nonetheless and by no means run down. Our room was on the third floor and we had a sea view which was beautiful. The room was basic but we did not spend much time there as we were too busy enjoying Portinatx!

The food was nice but a little repetitive, however this is always the case with all inclusive. That said, we always found something to suit us both and never went hungry! The ice-cream included in the all-inclusive package are little pots of Walls vanilla, chocolate or strawberry but the kids seemed happy enough with that. We aren't big drinkers so cannot really comment on the alcohol selection but there was always somebody serving at the bar and service was quick.

The entertainment at the hotel was very good, there were lots of activities going on for the children and always some form of evening show for the adults. Also, there was a quiz around the pool each day for adults (I hope you do better than we did!).

The pool is quite small considering the amount of people that were staying there in June and it was a little on the cold side. However, that did not matter as the beach (which is down a short steep hill) was lovely, soft sand and shallow water, it never got overcrowded either. One thing I would mention though is that the cove to the left of the beach had more jelly fish than the one to the right. I would avoid this if possible.

Portinatx itself is small but picturesque; the views all around are stunning! We went on one trip during our stay to the caves. I would not recommend this as they have been made into a false tourist attraction with neon green luminescent water pools!

All in all, we had a relaxing week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I would have no reservations in recommending it to anyone (especially families).

Room Tip: Get a room with a sea view if possible.

“Poor Entertainment Mr Bushell”

Stayed one week in this hotel, found the room basic but clean and ok. Food was very good and the staff hard working and friendly. The beach is only a short walk. The hotel was let down by the lack of adult entertainment. You would think Thomson’s who was responsible for the entertainment would have had something sorted out for the later hours, from early evening all the entertainment was audience participation fine if you have young children or boring if you have older children or no children. Had we had not been all-inclusive we would have left the hotel in the evenings. Both I and other people in our party put in written complaints at the time but we still haven’t herd any feedback from Thomson’s and our stay was in September.

“Portinatx revisited”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

My wife and I returned to Portinatx after 34 years. We last visited on a Club 18-30 holiday !! This time we stayed half-board in the Presidente Hotel. We really had a good time here. The meals were buffet style and there was a decent selection each morning and evening. A five minue stroll to 2 beaches with several restaurants overlooking the beach. Prefect resort for a break in October, don't think I would enjoy it in July. The only drawback was the smokers in the hotel. We decided not to upgrade to all inclusive and went out to a few quieter smoke free bars nearby.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view on arrival.

“Absolutely brilliant hotel!!!”

First of all...Ignore most of the bad reviews on here...The Presidente is aimed at families with young children up to the age of 13. This hotel is excellent! The staff are very welcoming, especially to the children. We cannot fault the food, it was always hot, fresh and there was something that everybody liked morning noon and night! We stayed for 1 week in the school holidays and it was quiet as it was the last week of the summer season. The rooms were kept clean religiously and the towels were changed every day.

We hired beach towels for a deposit of 10E each per day. This was invaluable. It meant no damp towels on any of our trips to the beach as you can swap them for clean every day. The fridge in the room is 3,90E to hire er day and it has a little section inside (but above the fridge and coldness) that we kept our passports in and valuables, it locked so that was safe enough for us. Otherwise it would have been another 3,90E per day. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom along with complimentary showergel, comb and showercap.

The hill down to the beach is steep, granted, but I was glad to have it as a form of exercise after all the gorgeous food! It really is not that bad. The sea was lovely but one thing we recommend is buying a beach mat each and parasol if you love the beach as the sunbeds and parasols on the beach were 5E EACH PER PERSON. We bought them for the whole week from the s'arenal shop and it cost 15E.

We enjoyed the entertainment in the evenings and we never found it hard to sleep when having an early night ( we were also above the entertainment)

Ibiza itself is a lovely island, we toured around it and saw each area and a lot of it was very quiet. Beautiful landscapes.

The only negative I have about the hotel is that the rooms for a family of 4 are a tight squeeze. But it didnt matter too much as we did not spend much time in there.

Room Tip: Try request room 423...Lovely sea view room.

Like already stated please ignore the negative reviews.
Ok yeh the sunbeds need replacing n the snacks on AI are poor(just cheese & ham sandwiches) and afternoon tea's are just that (cuppa you can get all day when AI anyway) but apart from those minor complaints the Presidente is one of the best value for money hols we've experienced and there's been a few.
Yeh, rooms basic but you get what you pay for but were spotless and I mean spotless every day.
As for the food....the best quality & variety ever experienced. We always eat "out" a few times regardless of type of board we've booked but this is the first occasion we've never done that cos the food really is that good. They've got seperate servery for kids to help themselves to "kids food" i.e. burgers, nuggets, chips etc.. which the kids loved. The Restaurant Manager was always on top of the game even at peak times and the staff were fantastic.
A number of people have said some bar staff were rude...please interpret this as "dry" as anyone with a sense of humour would of realised. Even when they were at their busiest they always kept waiting time to a minimum...and the longest i waited to be served was no more than 3 mins. They always seemed to know who was next to be served as no formal queue in the main bar people just approached nearest to their tables. Oh yeh the draught beer was San Miguel and the local vodka is more than acceptable.... had plenty of both !!
All in all it is the staff who make a hotel and a holiday and at the Presidente these could not be faulted in any way. A repatriated Geordie lass from Wallsend works on reception which made obtaining any resort or tourist info that bit easier althought the local staff were quite capable.
The hotel is advertised as a family resort so that's what the entertainment is focused on ...and they were fantastic at what they do. We are a couple nearing our 50s and we had no complaints about what was going on...in fact our grandkids would of loved it too.
The resort is small & quiet with not a lot going on ( even peak season I expect) which was exactly the type of holiday we had planned. Quiet and relaxing and managed to watch the Toon match in Del boys on the saturday.
We had room 239 which had a side sea view and was overlooking the Greco hotel and surrounding pine forests...nice & quiet...as long as evening entertainment was outdoors by the pool.
So to summarise.........Yep i would recommend the Presidente to anybody....those wanting excellent food & drink and a quiet relaxing holiday resort to go with it. Simples !!!!

Room Tip: High floor...................compromise...sea view or quiet room prior to 11pm.
