My husband and I traveled to Ireland this summer and we completed a nine day, self-guided walking trip around the Dingle Peninsula. Moan Laur was the second B&B we stayed at and the best B&B in our entire trip. Not only were owners Ian and Rachel gracious hosts, but they went above and beyond their duty to help us with an inconvenience that arose during our walk. To make a long story short, on the morning of our very first day of walking through the countryside, from Tralee to Camp, the soles of my hiking boots detached from the boot. I had to use rubber bands and a hair band to keep the soles on, and regardless to say it was a tough hike that day. When we arrived at Moan Laur we were worried about what to do, since we had to continue our walk the following morning. Ian and Rachel then demonstrated their "super host" status by immediately offering to drive us to the closest town (Tralee) the next morning and dropping us off at the main sports store in town, so that we could buy a replacement pair of boots. Not only did they not charge us a dime for this extra service, but they also modified their schedule the next morning to take us into town so that we could then make a bus that would take us to the start of the walk. Needless to say, we will always be grateful for this act of kindness. With regards to the details of the place, as other travelers have stated here the interior of Moan Laur is really beautiful and you can tell Ian and Rachel put a great deal of work into the place. The breakfast with organic ingredients is delicious and healthy, and portions are generous -- a small, but key detail for walkers --. Also, everything is fresh, fresh, fresh. In addition to their great hospitality, Ian and Rachel are very easygoing and chill, so we felt really relaxed, which is why we went on vacation in the first place, to get away from the stresses of New York. The room we stayed in was very comfortable, the bathroom was perfect and they provide shampoo and soap. All in all, a wonderful place we would love to return to one day.
