The Allan Ramsay is a charming hotel and restaurant in a beautiful setting. Lovely home cooked food (the homemade soup is delish!) good variety on the menu and really friendly atmosphere. The staff were helpful and attentive and will definitely be back! The resident dogs are really cute too!

My wife and I had a truly memorable stay at this hotel. Undoubtedly a hidden gem, this hotel is everything a small intimate country hotel should be. Very friendly and accomodating staff, fantastic food at very reasonable prices and a menu that changes daily meant we were spoilt for choice! Charm and character oozes out of every rafter and nook and cranny. Fantastic, highly recommended!

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. I first stayed in the hotel for a birthday dinner and overnight stay in December. The food was great and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed eating in the bar area and had a great table near the fire. It was a warm and cosy retreat to stay in the winter. The hotel has a nice historic feel to it and is welcoming to travellers as well as evidently being a favourite for the locals, some of whom we chatted with as the evening drew on. The room we stayed in was clean and very comfortable. Overall it was a very pleasant experience - we were sad to be checking out after only one night.

I returned again in June with four others. We were all going to a wedding nearby and the proprietor helped me book taxis to get to and from the event. We enjoyed a few drinks in the bar and returned later to a lively Saturday night atmosphere. Again the rooms were clean and comfortable and we all enjoyed the full cooked breakfast the next morning. My companions said they would definitely stay again. Overall highly recommended.

Fabulous location, warm friendly atmosphere. Great food with superb value for money... Bedrooms very clean and comfortable. Very musical community so watch out for up and coming events. I stayed over the weekend of 'The Big Party' music festival wchich took place over 2 days with live music in the hotel & village hall. The atmosphere was that of a good scottish knees up. Definately go back. They have varios musical events throughout the year. Enjoy .....
