food: good choice of food but got a bit boring towards the end of the second week. the food was a bit repetitive, and all the desserts tasted the same every night! the prices of drinks are a joke in the hotel, you're better of going to the the local shop across the main road. shops near the beach are 3 times the price! nice area to sit outside an eat, more like a terrace, but good views over looking mountains and the beach.
rooms: had a few issues with cleanliness so we asked to move. we were told at the reception that this was not possible as Thomson guests do not have priority. it seems like the russian operators send more guests, so all the russian guests get the best rooms! after causing a bit of a scene at the reception having been told this, we were told they could move us the following day, which they did. the room was a lot nicer, they clearly palm of the grotty rooms to english guests! but all rooms we saw seemed a bit grubby and in need of a bit of TLC.
beds were really hard! the mattress was really thin and you could feel the springs digging into your body, not fun when your there for 2 weeks!
pool: RUBBISH!!!!! accident waiting to happen! 3 pools the size of a bath if im honest! we were so disappointed. the pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a while. there was grime around the rim of the pool which had nail marks in it was that thick! i think they had cleaned the water, but that is just not good enough. they also were filling the pools up with a hose pipe at one point! they had lifted up a slap around the rim of the pool and slotted the hose pipe in. i'm just glad we don't have children, i wouldn't feel they were safe there. it really is a dangerous area for kids, grubby, and just generally not very well presented.
beach: again a bit of a disappointment. it is really crowded with sun beds, umbrella etc you can hardly see the sea. you do get free towels and sunbeds as your part of the hotel which is good. it has its own private stretch.
now for the good points, sveti stefan is a really nice area, beach is beautiful, a lot better than becici. we couldnt quite make up our mind as to whether becici was nice or not, you get good areas and then you see a really dumpy part, its a bit like that along the promenade in becici. both ends are nice, but the middle part needs cleaning up a bit.
budva old town is great, really really nice. we enjoyed a few evenings out there, some lovely yachts there too.
there are some really gorgeous beaches to visit too which are not far away, also the town of kotor about 40 mins away has an amazing old town and a port. if we ever visit again, we would stay here because its so pretty and the town sits on the bay and its stunning.
warning: watch out for staff in bars/restaurants short changing you. it happens a lot in the area when you first go into a bar, but once you point it out to them they don't do it again and they give you what you are owed. seemed to happen too often for it to be a coincidence. it even happened in the hotel pool bar!!! we were shocked and should have complained to reception but we felt we had done it a few too many times, they were probably bored of us!
