We're a young couple from Vancouver, CA and we had a lovely time here, starting with Elsa picking us up from Sayulita. A very nice touch :) We stayed in the "Owner's Apartment," Elsa upgraded our room free of charge because of a last minute cancellation. Another nice touch! This suite has gorgeous views and is very spacious and tastefully
decorated. There is a double tub in the bathroom but it is more for
showering than soaking, as it fills very slowly via the shower-head. The pool is beautiful and the breakfasts are yummy! FYI that breakfast was usually served later (around 930-10) but I'm sure they wouldn't mind serving you earlier as long as you let them know.

La Cruz has some great restaurants (we found Frescati's to be very romantic and tasty and the little seafood burrito place along the road is great - Elsa can point it out). Also I'd recommend a day trip to Sayulita, a charming surfer town where you can rent a surf or paddle board cheap then grab a cheap but tasty fish taco from any of the many restaurants before checking out some of the really cool shops!

We stayed at Villa Bella for 3 nights at the end of a 2 month vacation stay in a rental home in Bucerias. We chose La Cruz as my husband was playing with the Mexican Shuffle Band at Philo's and we wanted to be close.
Villa Bella was the perfect getaway for us. Rosa's breakfast's were delicious and our morning visits with Elsa were informative and charming. After two months of poor sleep in our rental home, the beds at Villa Bella were heaven and we slept like babes. The pool was the perfect temperature and the view from the pool is absolutely breathtaking. We were so thrilled with our stay that we put a deposit down and booked a six week stay next winter! If you're looking for a B & B stay with delicious breakfasts, dreamy beds & linens and a pool with a spectacular view, Villa Bella is the vacation destination for you!

We stayed at the Villa Bella for 10 days over Christmas and New Year's in 2010. We are not fans of large resorts - all-inclusive or otherwise - and the Villa Bella was a perfect alternative. With the large and very comfortable bed/sitting rooms, and welcome to the outdoor kitchen, dining room, sitting area, garden and pool, we felt completely at home. The view was spectacular. Best of all was sitting down with Elsa every day at breakfast and enjoying the warm welcome of Alfonso and Rosa. Instead of being one of too many guests in a larger place, we felt that we really got an authentic Mexican experience, largely due to our chats with Elsa who had wonderful stories to tell. Our children who are young adults and who have several friends in the area, were also warmly welcomed and were free to come and go as they pleased without disturbing anyone. The Villa is a very easy walk (5-10 minutes) to a variety of Mexican restaurants in La Cruz and to the beach. La Cruz is a charming town on the edge of tourism with way more authenticity than nearby Bucerias and La Mita. We much preferred it. Highly recommended if small and authentic is what you are looking for.

This visit was our six to wonderful Villa Bella. Elsa and the entire staff are amazing and go out of their way to make our stays memorable. From booking restaurants and tours to spa services all our needs are taken care of. Breakfasts are outstanding and Rosa's salsas are a treat. This is a true hidden gem.
