Premier Inn can usually be relied on for clean, warm rooms, spotless bathrooms and a good nights sleep. This one lives up to the standard...a little more so than its Premier Inn rival a few miles away in Heswall. The staff are delightful...we stayed over Christmas and they made sure everything was in place, that we knew of changes to their normal routines, and how to get them if away from the desk.
My only criticism...and it's more of an advisory than a criticism really...if you are travelling solo, and have heavy bags, the stairs are quite steep, and there is no lift. I ended up with back problems after hauling my three suitcases up and down them.
Premier Inn follow the policy of not situating solo women travellers on the ground floor or at the end of hallways for safety - a factor I really appreciate, especially when my 20 year old daughter travels alone. However, if it means the difference of not carrying the bags upstairs, I'd rather take that ground floor option.
Maybe the website could update to remind travellers, when they are booking, whether or not the Premier Inn has a lift or not.
The pub next door is great for breakfast but can be a little bit "rough" during lunch and evenings...we were treated to a large family party on the next table whose language choices were not what I wanted to be listening to at Christmas!
