“Loved it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

The whole experience was fabulous. Myself, my husband, sister & her husband all stayed in the Pirate house. We had the whole complex to our selves as we vusited in the off season. we availed ouselves of the transport provided at a reasonable cost each day to tour around. We had not intented to eat there each night but the meals were so good why travel to Ubud to eat. A huge storm brought down power lines on our last night which caused a blackout to the pirate house. we were offered the use of other rooms at the facility for the night should we desire.
Anyone booking here should realise it is in the rice-fields (that was the charm for us).
The Staff were all great and made us feel like friends. Would love to visit again.
Thankyou all for the great experience.

Room Tip: Thr pirate house is a little away from the pool. The other rooms surround the pool.

“WOW !!!!”

We (4 adults) spent 4 nights here & had the most amazing stay. The food was to die for. We have breakfast over looking the rice fields & diners over looking the pool. The pool was very relaxing at the end of the day. The staff were most attentive. The views amazing. We went on a few tours with Oki as our driver & he was terrific.
We stayed in the Pirate House which was so comfortable & sitting on the balcony looking out over the rice fields was wonderful. I had a Bali massage which was so relaxing at the end of a long day of walking around Ubub.
If in Bali & looking for a great place to stay please look at BALAM BALI VILLAS !!!!!!

Room Tip: I would surgest that if u have difficultes with stairs that u don't stay in the Pirate House tho...

“Amazing place in Bali”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

My girlfriend and I stayed at Balam Bali in August 2011 and never really got round to reviewing all the places we stayed at. But if there is one place deserving an excellent review during our 5 week trip of Thailand and Indonesia, it's Balam Bali!

Originally we only planned one night in the Bali room. We first thought it was located very near the centre of Ubud but were mistaken and were lucky to catch a taxi driver from the area who was on his way home. Arriving at the villa, we were stunned by the magnificent setting amidst the rice fields. The little gate at the back allows you to walk into the rice fields and explore on your own.

On the second day, we decided to stay one more night. However, the place was fully booked, so Hubert offered us his own room! But the couple staying in the Siam room left to catch a plane around 9PM so we moved to the largest room of the villa at no extra cost.

We took a small (couple of hours) walking trip with Hubert who lead us through paths only locals can know. Hubert entertained us all the time with facts and peculiarities of Bali and showed us AMAZING rice terrace views and an impressive look at Bali's biggest tree (from up close and from afar).

Breakfast is served on the top terras which provides the best views (even Mt Agung is visible on clear days). For dinner, you can choose from a small selection of meals or just pick the daily menu, which, for the two nights we stayed there, consisted of a delicious mix between Indonesian and Western food.

I have to say all rooms are great and any choice would be good. Don't try to get the room with the best view because it's much better to just sit in the common areas to soak in the beauty of the surrounding rice fields.

Though some would say its remoteness is a downside, this is not true. It is the best place we've seen to enjoy the Balinese countryside and relax. Hubert is a very hospitable and joyous guy who will do everything to make your stay worth wile!

Room Tip: Any room is a good one.

“The Fabulous Balam Bali Villa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

It's a beautiful place over-seeing the serene beautiful padi fields. We stayed in the 'Java' and 'Toraja ' villas. Beautiful rooms and cosy. Our entire stay was made even more pleasant with the friendly and cheerful hosts David and Adi and the staff Mayun, Komang, Kadek And Suardi and Hunter. It's a place we would recommend and stay over again. Thanks guys for the excellent experience, cheers!

“Un havre de paix à ne pas manquer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012
