“Beautiful place but...”

I wanted to visit Haiti after 11 years being away so I choose Port-Morgan. The people there are very nice. we eat 3 times a day and we were able to watch the world cup at the owner's private house which was nice... my kids had an awesome time. My problem was I missed my flight so I was not able to get the bus, the hotel sent someone to get us from the airport, they asked us to pay a lot of money about $400 US for the car. on top of that one of the worker in the front desk ask me to pay gas as well, I did not pay gas cause I felt it's too much. what I'm trying to say is, it's a beautiful place but there's a lot of run around when it comes to price ( watch out for that)...

“Beautiful spot in South-West Haiti - Ile a Vache”

I traveled from Port-au-Prince to Les Cayes by air conditioned bus (10$US) and then had the hotel mototaxi ferry us to the wharf where the hotel boat was waiting for us. The crossing was beautiful, about 30 minutes max and the sea was good, a bit of spray but not too bad in the afternoon.

The Port Morgan hotel is on a hill above a lovely bay where a small village is found too.
The hotel room was very comfortable with all amenities one could find. There is a beautiful infinity pool with salted water and it has whirpools in it as well. There is a lovely small beach down by the water - very quiet and restful, not too many people were there at the hotel at that time. The kitchen consulted you on your choice of dinner every morning and portions were very generous delicious Haitian cuisine with European touches, lots of fish. There were many possibilities for walking around the hotel and going to the other beach where there is as well another hotel, Abaka Bay. The beach is also lovely there. The island is worth exploring as well as going on an excursion with the boat to see other small islands in the bay, which we did. Saw pelicans, fishermen, got lovely seashells and visited the other village on market day. It was a wonderful relaxing stay of five days and I wished we had stayed more...Recommend doing dives - there's a diver there and snorkeling too. One can get there by plane too from Port-au-Prince. Lovely atmosphere and great company. Transport is reliable and the road is good surprisingly. Really a nice place.

The weather was at the beginning of August rather rainy and humid just as it was in Miami at the same time. That was a bit of a drawback but it rained hard and the sun came out after, so it did not stop our activities. Some paths however can be rather muddy, but that is all.

“Best time ever after 18 years away”

I went to Haiti to visit and to enjoy my vacation and I did to the max. I was reading an internet article on ile a vache and there it was "Port Morgan". That's how I found about Port Morgan at Ile a vache.
So I talked to some friends and invited them to go with me to discover what was there and an other side of Haiti that I was not too familliar with.
Everything was just perfect. The owner Didier and the staff were so welcoming and warm. They were involve in everythings and they made us feel comfortable from the food to the variety of vine and drinks, we were in the right place.
I had never seen a dazzling sky so close that the stars were at arm's reach.
Life is really in the daiiy details of things and seing is believing. the excursions were so lively.
The food was great and our stay so envigorating and rejuvanating! It made our staying at other hotel pale and borring after these five days. Even though I have been to port morgan already I will be going back this summer. The boat ride to the market was great.
Saddly there is no word to describe being there, it has to be experianced. The pool is a great place to sit and have a drink, the bar is inside the pool and it was well design; It gives you the feeling of being in the ocean whereas you are on top of a hill.
The service is top notch. The conversation with Didier was great. I hope they keep up the good work. Their price were a bit steep for the drinks. Overall the vacation was great.

We have returned from paradise... Port Morgan at Ile a vaches was the best vacation I ever had. Everything was just perfect. The owner Didier and the staff so welcoming and warm. I felt like I had come home...to paradise.
I will definitely recommend this place to everyone who needs to take a break from the hectic life. It is absolutely marvellous.
I can't wait to go back. Already making plans. This is the best I've ever seen in Haiti. The servce, the rooms, the food...the scenery . Something very special about the place...

“Best place to go to relax in carribean”

I have been to port morgan 3 times already and will be going back this summer. I am crazy for that place. The food is amazing (included in price), drinks are not too expensive, the pool is a nice place to relax after a day at the beach, and the service is top notch. Only negative is that the excursions are a bit expensive, but trust me they are worth it. Go to the near by islands and sand bar, and also to anse dufour a very nice beach. You may also walk there for free :) and have the hotel bring your lunch and drinks there by boat for $10. The hotel has a beach which is less nice than the excursion beaches but it is still very nice. The rooms are super clean, 4 star standard, bathrooms are big. They use european outlets so bring an adaptor. As for the previous review, i found the employees happy working at the hotel, they didn't seem under paid. Or at least I am sure they are happy to even have a job since there are only 2 hotels at island and they are the only employers on island. As for security, its a very safe place to be. There is basically no night life. So I recommend bring games or a book. I am sure to go visit port morgan many times again in my lifetime. I love it there.
