We stay at Port Morgan each time we visit Ile a Vache because of the accessible marina and our daily trips to Mdm. Bernard to work at an orphanage. Port Morgan is beautiful and quiet, and they have a new addition since my last visit. Our room was great and the shower pressure is unlike anywhere else Ive stayed in Haiti! The staff are friendly and warm, although the new event coordinator appeared to be annoyed whenever we arranged our own plans and advised us against doing so (along with speaking badly about his boss, which I found to be unprofessional. )
I think it would be great if breakfast were a little earlier, just because we like to get a full day of work in and we are used to early mornings: 7 or 7:30 would get our days started more quickly than the current 8am. It would also be fantastic if the hotel had wireless internet so that we could work from the dining area, although I'm not sure if that is even a possibility on the island.
I definitely recommend you bring a mask for snorkeling off the beach! Dont be afraid to take some walking trips around the island and visit the nearby village, I have found the locals to be very eager to meet you and make your visit pleasant. The event coordinator position is new to Port Morgan and I think it's great! We didnt make use of it because we had connections in the area but someone who is new to the island would greatly benefit from their help. I highly recommend taking a trip to the beach at Abaka Bay as well as a small sandy island in the bay off Mdm. Bernard called Isle de l'amour, it's breathtaking! Also check out the market at Mdm. Bernard on Tue and Thur and visit Soeur Flora at L'orphelinat :) If you're lucky maybe you can catch a soccer game in the village!

Went for the first time and will go back. The staff, the service, the cleanness of the entire hotel were just great. My family and friends had a fantastic time. You can enjoy the beauty of gorgeous beaches and relaxation like no other. Even though there are many activities to do this does not interfere with the calm you can enjoy there. The food was great, many choices at all three daily meals. The bathrooms have hot and cold water and freezing A/C if you so desire. They have done a wonderful job !!!!!

I wanted to visit Haiti after 11 years being away so I choose Port-Morgan. The people there are very nice. we eat 3 times a day and we were able to watch the world cup at the owner's private house which was nice... my kids had an awesome time. My problem was I missed my flight so I was not able to get the bus, the hotel sent someone to get us from the airport, they asked us to pay a lot of money about $400 US for the car. on top of that one of the worker in the front desk ask me to pay gas as well, I did not pay gas cause I felt it's too much. what I'm trying to say is, it's a beautiful place but there's a lot of run around when it comes to price ( watch out for that)...

I traveled from Port-au-Prince to Les Cayes by air conditioned bus (10$US) and then had the hotel mototaxi ferry us to the wharf where the hotel boat was waiting for us. The crossing was beautiful, about 30 minutes max and the sea was good, a bit of spray but not too bad in the afternoon.

The Port Morgan hotel is on a hill above a lovely bay where a small village is found too.
The hotel room was very comfortable with all amenities one could find. There is a beautiful infinity pool with salted water and it has whirpools in it as well. There is a lovely small beach down by the water - very quiet and restful, not too many people were there at the hotel at that time. The kitchen consulted you on your choice of dinner every morning and portions were very generous delicious Haitian cuisine with European touches, lots of fish. There were many possibilities for walking around the hotel and going to the other beach where there is as well another hotel, Abaka Bay. The beach is also lovely there. The island is worth exploring as well as going on an excursion with the boat to see other small islands in the bay, which we did. Saw pelicans, fishermen, got lovely seashells and visited the other village on market day. It was a wonderful relaxing stay of five days and I wished we had stayed more...Recommend doing dives - there's a diver there and snorkeling too. One can get there by plane too from Port-au-Prince. Lovely atmosphere and great company. Transport is reliable and the road is good surprisingly. Really a nice place.

The weather was at the beginning of August rather rainy and humid just as it was in Miami at the same time. That was a bit of a drawback but it rained hard and the sun came out after, so it did not stop our activities. Some paths however can be rather muddy, but that is all.
