Our stay here was not horrible, but I could have done with a couple of warnings (which I am about to give). If the choice is between staying here and not staying in Orte, choose this hotel, because the tiny town itself is worth it.
The hotel wasn't bad. The rooms were clean, there was a coffee machine (don't count on the breakfast, it's the coffee machine and stale packaged cakes) and at the price we got it for our room was cheap.
Problems: there was mention that they could pick you up from the train station, which is 4km away. This didn't happen for us. Catch the bus outside the station - it's only 90 eurocents to get to Orte proper.
The check-in hours aren't observed, so you need a phone to track down the owners to let you in your room. (There is no guarantee you will get hold of the family member who speaks English, so brush up your telephone Italian.)
Don't count on the wireless! It is unreliable as the router is in the restaurant across the courtyard, so it has to pass through two solid stone walls and 20 metres before your computer gets it. They also turn it off when they go to bed and only put it on whenever they get up (not early). This was a major problem for us as we were both working remotely and wireless was the only reason we chose the hotel.
Worse point for me was eating in the restaurant. Don't do it. We thought we'd give it a go as we were staying there. The family uses the restaurant's back room as their living room - usually not a bad thing, except the television was blaring and the cigarette smoke from the chain-smoking parents invaded the restaurant. As they themselves were having dinner, we felt a little intrusive. The food itself was on the pricey side, and bad. I ordered the tagliatelle with wild boar, and what came out was a small serve of tagliatelle with canned bolognese sauce. (I wouldn't feed a cat canned bolognese sauce, and I don't even like cats.) We ended up paying 40 euros for a terrible meal.
Basically, if all you're there for is a room, this will do. Don't count on anything else.
