We stayed here for two nights in November and very pleasant it was too. Rosendal is a small town and the whole set up is geared towards tourism. As it was at the end of the season you may expect some snags, or fewer staff in the hotel, but there were no obvious problems. Check in and out was straightforward enough with enough radiant smiles to light up the town. Maybe they were glad to see the back of us !!
The rooms we occupied were fairly good, with large bay windows affording views of the Hardangerfjord. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. Although I found the bathroom a little cramped, this was compensated with the big fluffy towels supplied.
The restaurant overlooks the fjord and although the evening menu was limited, the food and service were excellent. I was taken aback at breakfast with the amount of food that was available. Everything was there !! A huge long table with laden with cold meats, cheeses, yoghurts, cereals, salads, pickles, fish and the usual hot dishes on the side. I must say that the bread was as fresh as a daisy and tasted wonderful. A great start to the day !
If you are in the area this hotel is as good as you will find.
