A great time was had from start to finish. Very relaxing and freindly enviroment nothing
too much trouble. Lots of excellent and varied choices on the menu. A lovely surprise
birthday cake for one of the party was very much appreciated. Elaine , Iain and staff
made our stay most enjoyable. Just a lovely place to be here's to the next time

“Absolute beauty!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

Myself and my fiancée stayed here in May 2011 and from the very first greeting by Ian we were made to feel at home with a dram of whiskey. The house is beautiful, the service leaves some 5 star hotels in the dust without question. The food is again up there with top restaurant cuisine!. Overall a dream place to stay it is a gem and really made our holiday!

“Everything you expect after reading all the reviews and more!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

We spent three days in the hotel. Comfortable, peaceful and great food. Very friendly and welcoming service. If you really want to indulge yourself, go for the afternoon tea. It's not very big and you're quite close to other guests, so we wouldn't advise this place for families.

“Relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

Spent a relaxing weekend break at Tigh na Sgiath (TNS). We chose this hotel as we wanted a bit of peaceful highland hospitality, as opposed to a City break in a cold hotel owned by a nationwide chain.
The TNS lived up to all our expectations, based on previous favourable reviews on Tripadvisor. The hotel is very clean, welcoming and the owner (Ian) gives you a personal touch. Entering the hotel is like stepping back in time, where all the furniture and accessories are antiques from another era.....really quirky and pleasant.
We booked dinner on the Saturday night, which was well presented, nice atmoshere and lovely food. We both ordered the fillet steak for our main course, and we both agreed it was one of the best we've had in a long while.
The only small downside i would mention is we were on the 2nd floor, where the bedroom ceilings are sloping, so you had to be careful not to bang your head. Also, there are no lifts in the hotel, so if you have difficulty ascending stairs, best to check with the hotel first before you book.
Overall, a nice relaxing old fashioned charming hotel, ideal for a piece of highland hospitality.

Room Tip: If you have trouble with stairs, contact the hotel first before booking.

“Elegance, class and a foodie's dream :)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

I love romantic weekends: Country House Hotels; romantic dinners - I'm there. What this place offers over many I have stayed in is the idea that we are in the here and now. There is no shabby-chic or faded glamour about this place. It shines. It sparkles. It quite simply is wonderful. The quality of the food (which is locally sourced) is not only at the top-end of what I have experienced, the presentation also has been of a quality that will no doubt delight yourself if you are fortunate enough to experience it. I also can't fault the full ENGLISH (ducks for cover - I can't believe I said that at the time!) sorry I mean SCOTTISH breakfast and the selection of teas and home-baking. Hope to return soon.
